Ian Desmond now "opts out" of the 2021 Colorado Rockies season. He also did the same in 2020.

Is that quitting on his teammates?

They have new catch phrases for everything now.

A manhole is now referred to as a maintenance hole

You cant say immigrant anymore. Its foreign born non-US citizen

I was even reading a medical story the other day and instead of referring to someone as male or female they used the terms: if you are an individual with penis parts or an individual with vulva parts etc
Class never goes out of style

Some people are truly scared, some think it's not worth the risk and / or don't want to stay away from family members

Right, wrong or indifferent, I can't judge them. They have the freedom to make those decisions

I have a problem when they want to take such freedom away from other people
Free daycare, preschool, college, healthcare, prescriptions, it's all free people. Redirect police funding, navigate away from oil, the Green New deal, pack the SC 😆

Agree. As well he's not getting paid, so why does anyone really care. He just happens to have made a lot of money, and can afford to stay home. Not sure why anyone really cares too much about this.
How did a generation raised on South Park and Family Guy become sooooo sensitive?

It’s “opting out” because he is under a contract.

he could return if he chooses.

It’s more of an unpaid leave of absence

Took one of those a couple of years ago. 3 months no pay. Loved it.

Carson Wentz "opted out". Eagles should have let him sit at no pay. He's already got enough to get by in 3rd World North Dakota.

How about the guy for Duke right now that halfway through the season says he's "opting out" in order to prepare for the NBA? You know damn well had Duke been good, he'd still be on the team.

So, the guy has no obligation to his team and teammates? He's under contract to play.

Because he could help his team win more games.

OK, that's a different set of circumstances. That guy is quitting the team and now can accept money from an agent. He's leaving to get paid, not leaving money on the table. I wouldn't do that, but I can't live his life either

As long as he doesn't try to tell me how to live

His actions might hurt him long term, especially if Dook keeps playing better without him

That's why I asked the question though Willie. ESPN called his quitting "opting out" of the season.

Your entire country believes in freedom.
You are free to quit your job. This guy has the same freedoms.

Oh, I agree. But you are right, you are free to "quit" your job not "opt out" of your job.
