For the different tracks?

THis is a very valuable tool that often gets left out of the Racing Form.

Yes, I agree; I don’t know why they have sometimes and sometimes it’s says NA which doesn’t make sense as all.

Shed some light for me guys. I haven't seen a racing form in 20 years. Where would they show a Beyer Par in the racing form? Did it represent the par for a single race in question (surface/class/distance)? Or did they show you a complete chart of all pars for all race types?

Not sure for DRF as I do not use them. But the Brisnet has a par for 99% of races in top right corner of the form for a specific race. Very valuable info imo.

That now makes me curious becuase I thought Beyer Par was actually a Par generated from the field of horses in the race. The premise, as far as I understood it, was initial speed figures were based of class pars and then off horse's speed figures themselves. So maybe the N/A comes from lack of speed figures in the field??
I really have know idea.... just trying to understand their par.

My understanding of Par Figure is the average Beyer figure for all horses at the track being studied for the class of the race being studied.

They can be kept manually. An old friend of mine used to do it. But like everything else we got lazy when the Racing Form started doing it for us.

I have never understood why they do it for some tracks but not others. Heck on the same track on the same day they will have some races with the average and others without it (NA not available)

Like Jack said, it is a very valuable tool.

It appears in every race in the Racing Form on the top right about a quarter of a white space inch from the distance of the race in the racing oval.

I don't know you guys but if you sell info keeping these and selling properly defined Beyer averages would be very helpful.

PS I use Beyer figures but I also calculate my own figures. But I don't keep the averages. If I wanted to do this seriously I sure would.
