Quarterbacks in the draft

I'm a huge NFL fan. But pay little attention to the college game (just not enough time).

The Niners just traded up to #3. Has to be for a QB.

I'm thinking that Belichick has one more card up his sleeve and I don't think, at least I hope it isn't Jimmy G. I think he's gonna go after one of the top QBs in the draft. He may have to move up from #15 which would be out of character for him, but it wouldn't surprise me if he thinks he can get his guy.

So how would you guys rate the top QBs available in the draft. Who's a no brainer to make it in the NFL? Who's questionable?

I'm thinking Lawrence and Wilson go 1, 2 or 2, 1. I think Shanahan has traded up to get Mack Jones. He has the team to win now and I think he wants an NFL ready pocket passer. Who comes after those three guys? Who would Belichick want?

PS, metro has already made it clear that he thinks Fields is the guy. Do you guys agree?

Anything is possible but I don't see the Pats getting Fields, Jones or Lance. No willing trade partners either.

Mack Jones at #3?! I sure hope not, I like Mac Jones, but he’s not a #3 pick by any means...

The teams behind SF are hoping they take him because there’s no harm do if they do, they don’t want him...

Don't see NE going after a QB, market is just too robust right now. Too many teams in the top 5-10 that need a QB. It is possible QB's go 1-5 in the draft, or 5 in top 7. With the cap going up, the rookie deal market inefficiency has made it a sellers market (for the rookie QB's services)

I'm not much of a draftnik either and don't think Jones should go #3, although Shanahan offense does seem perfect for him. If he can be a better version of JimmyG on a rookie deal, that's a nice win with the team they have. That's the type of team he needs to go to, a team that he can be a piece rather than carry.

It’s definitely possible that QBs could go 1,2,3,4 now. Crazy...

Lance is setting a new standard...the less you play the higher you go. One thing is for sure, Lawrence goes #1. Can't believe Bill wants to go through another year with Cam, but he has earned the right to make what appears to be a dumb move. Minus that, I think NE will be very good this coming year.

Fields is the guy to me. He has a burst of speed he can use when he needs it. To me he will be just like mahomes

I don't. I think anything you hear about SF being interested in Jones at 3 is nothing more than a smoke screen for whatever reason. Once you get into that top 3 spot in the draft and their are 4-5 QBs that could go in the top 5, then I think it's foolish to play your hand early.

They want teams right behind them to think they could pick any of the possible choices there: Lance, Fields, or Jones. Just in case someone has fallen in love with a particular guy, they could get some more draft capital by swapping the 3 for the 4 or 5.

And yes. That's possible. Look what the Bears did to move up to grab Trubisky. Morons do exist in these NFL front offices.

Jones will be a good, maybe even a top notch NFL QB.

He is a tall, accomplished pocket passer with a strong arm and touch, who actually can run the ball when necessary but the key is he will NOT run the ball 7-8 times a game and then pay for it after awhile (see: RG3, Vick, Wentz, Trubisky... Watson ran too much but finally figured it out and became an excellent pocket passer). Mahomes is one play away from becoming a pocket passer, only... IMO he will be a decent pocket passer when it comes to that.

Fields & Lance depend on running WAY too much, it works in college, in the NFL your knees will eventually be pulverized. Or your shoulder. Or your hips. I would not take them, seriously, I do not think they will be good pocket passers "only".

The Patriots, Bears, Broncos, a few other teams in the middle of the first round will win big by taking Jones.

Impossible to tell until he hits the field in NFL games. Real ones. Not preseason. And that really goes for any of these guys.

The one thing you can't replicate with any games or drills before the draft is the speed at which the game moves at the next level. It's night and day. Some QB brains can make the jump and adjust. Some just will never get it. Moves too fast for the processing unit between the ears.

It's even harder to evaluate the QB's from schools like Alabama and Ohio St. The guys they throw to are usually WIDE open. It's just not the same windows that some other QBs had to work with.

No thanks.

Don't hold the transfer from Georgia against him .. Kirby lied to him , he could've went to any school he wanted too Fromm totally blew and its because of Kirby too .. imagine having all those weapons on offense and crafting an offense that self governed it all the way down to the pathetic style they played.
