New York Jets (1-4) vs New England Patriots (2-4]
The Pats already handled them by a 25-6 score. The question becomes, how will New England respond to the difficult defeat? Remember, the Pats were also off a tough loss (17-16 vs. Miami) the first time that they faced the Jets. Yet, they bounced back without an issue. Also, recall that they picked off Wilson four times in that game. With b2b road games on deck, followed by Cleveland, New England can't afford to squander this opportunity. I consider laying the points. New England - 6 1/2[ buying the hook]
Carolina Panthers [3-3] vs New York Giants[ 1-5]
This is a huge game for both teams. as it is a game both teams believe they can win -- and it's a game both teams need badly. The Giants season is on life support, but if they have any hope of turning things around they need to win this game. The Panthers still have legit playoff hopes, and they see this as a must win over a bad team to get back over .500. The Giants, when healthy, have some talent -- but they are just decimated by injuries. Not only is Barkley and half the receiving corps out or questionable, but now the other half of the receivers -- namely Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard, are questionable. The Giants have little margin for error and with injuries piling up, take the Panthers here giving up the points. Atlanta Falcons (2-3) vs Miami Dolphins (1-5)
Both teams are coming off a trip from London however Atlanta has the advantage with a bye week in between, and will be well rested. Atlanta is historically a very good bye team with a 26-16 record (61%) coming off a week off. Both of Atlanta's wins have come outside of Atlanta, with a win in New Jersey, and London. Miami is a team in turmoil, with injuries decimating the WR corps, and rumors' of a Deshawn Watson trade from Texas not going away, leading up to the trade deadline. The Miami Dolphins need to improve defensively this season as they are allowing 29.5 points per game so far. In their previous game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, they gave up 23 points on 396 total yards of offense (312 passing, 84 rushing). l Look for Atlanta to take advantage of a team that ranks 30th in total team D and offense, dead last in rushing yards and 28th in passing, the Dolphins have also turned the ball over 9 times this season. Matt Ryan has come on of late with 8 TDs and zero interceptions in his last three games.[ Article by NFL Capper Sports Analyst Rob Vinciletti [Contributor DVAXN Group 25 NFL Football Outsiders] Atlanta -1[ buying a point]
Washington Football Team (2-4) vs Green Bay Packers (5-1]
Green Bay has done a tremendous job of taking care of the football, and they’ll be lining up against a defense that is dead last in third-down conversions. Teams are converting 57.8 percent of the time on third downs against this underperforming defense. And who is going to put pressure on Rodgers? Washington is ranked in the bottom-half of the league in defensive sack percentage this season. Washington is a better team that they have shown so far this season defensively, however, the secondary has been torched throughout this season and I don’t think traveling to Green Bay to face the trio of Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, & Davante Adams is the remedy that they are looking for.
Green Bay’s defense has been solid since allowing 38 points in their season opener against New Orleans and between the fact that Washington is a bit banged up on the offensive end and that their offense was only able to put up 13 points against Kansas City last week, I think Green Bay wins this one by 10 and covers this spread. Good Luck! This game has all of the makings of a lopsided contest. Article by NFL Jerry Nyles NFL Capper[ [Contributor DVAXN Group 25 NFL Football Outsiders] Green Bay -7[ buying the hook]
