All I read is New England this and New England that. Where do you people get off on this dynasty stuff. You say how the nfc was so weak this year.
Folks nobody will see teams like the steelers in the 70's and the 49ers and cowboys later. The salary cap and parity have taken care of that.
What power house teams are there in the afc. Surly not chiefs or colts. yes they are fun to watch but when they ran out of money before paying defensive people.
In todays nfl anybody can beat anybody on any given day.
Having said that, give me 6- points and Carolina. I don't think I will need the points but they could come in handy.

You correctly say that on any given day, anybody can beat anybody. Doesn't that make NE's 14 straight even more impressive? Pats are undefeated versus teams that had winning records. Dynasty may be a bit strong, but 2 Super Bowls in 3 years, regardless of how anyone spins it, is pretty damn impressive.

IF they win the SB,thats 2 out of 3,under the sal.cap...with 2 first round pick 2 2nd round picks...and Tom brady at the ripe old age of 27....No dynasty but all the makings for a perfect storm....All the coaches will be back also....3rd SB apearence in the last 7 years...Tops in the NFL..in the age of "parity"
17-2 if they win...in the age of "parity"....Parity?...yeah every one else.

Let's see, New England wins the super bowl 2 years ago then does not even make the playoffs the next year. Thats not what I call the definition of a dynasty.
So if Carolina wins does that mean New Englands dynasty is crumbling. You guys crack me up.

Nobody's talking about a dynasty here chief. 2 SB's in 3 years ain't too shabby though. Plus, like others have said, they get Colvin back next year plus a boatload of picks. Should be even better next year.

I would certainly not say dynasty (yet) but they could be headed in that direction (note: if they win). 3 SB trips in 7 years with potentially 2 wins and who knows how many more years they may have in them before they hit a "down" cycle where they miss the playoffs at least 2 or more years in a row. Being a Dolphins fan myself, it is tough to stomach but I have to give credit where it is due.

If the Pats played in the NFC I could see them dominating the next few years, however playing in the AFC I think Tennessee, Denver, KC, and Indy will all be good teams for the next couple of years and give the Pats a hard time.

I haven't heard too many people mention
Patriots and Dynasty in the same sentence,
but they are the dominant team in the NFL.
No one is questioning this point.

If they can keep the nucleus of this team
together, a dynasty could be imminent.

WC Buzzsaw: The Pats didn't make the playoffs last year but yet they had as just as good a record than the first round and wild card teams. How can anyone deny that the Pats are a great team...when is the last time a team won 14 games in a row...against several very good teams too! I can't wait until NE kicks the crap out of Carolina in the big bowl! Then the dumba$$es will make up more excuses for why NE won the bowl as well as had such a great season!

I never said New England wasn't a really good team. I said they are not a dynasty like the steelers, cowboys or 49ers.
They were a bad call from not even going to the super bowl 2 years ago and didn't even make the playoffs last year.
I said "that is hardly stuff dynastys are made of".

You can't blame a team because they got a marginal call in their favor. I am sure Dallas, Pitt, and SF all got calls along the way, too. It certainly didn't make Vinatieri make the FG in the snow nor did it make them beat the Rams. BTW, I think that was one of the weaker SB champs of all time and I HAD the Raiders in that game, but I believe this Pats team is far superior to that team and I am ragging the fact that my beloved Dolphins are going to be facing them for years to come.

Despite what many might think of this team including myself at times, The Bills were a dynasty, New England is not, but is heading in that direction rapidly.
