Because of overnight lines are not available for the Dallas- New York and Colorado- Nashville games, I will be splitting the Official Contest Thread into two parts.

Please bear in mind the following special rules for this one time only:

1. You may make a maximum of two selections in the '[1 of 2] Offical Contest Thread' and a maximum of four selections in the '[2 of 2] Official Contest Thread'. (Isn't a good thing that there is exactly three games tomorrow?)

2. You may post only once in each thread.

3. You may NOT post selections before lines have been updated.

All of the customary rules apply, except where they contradict one of the three special rules above.

As soon as the lines are available, I will update the games in the second thread. This probably won't happen before 10:00am EST Sunday.

Lines from the Ontario Lottery Corporation. That's why there lines exist, even though no real book seems to be showing them.

I determined the lines in the following manner:

Dallas at New York Islanders (ProLine Odds):
Dallas to win by 2 Goals 2.35
Dallas to win by 1 Goal 1.75
Game to Finish Tied 3.75
New York Islanders to win by 1 Goal 2.30
New York Islanders to win by 2 Goals 2.90

To get the line on a pick, I used the following:
Dallas to win by 1 Goal 1.75 (-133)
New York Islanders to win by 1 Goal 2.30 (+130)

I used that as an estimate of a juice-free line of Dallas pick -130. This would be the equivalent of Dallas pick -140 and New York Islanders pick +120.

Given the line that I have assumed for the game being a pick, I have looked at other games similarly priced over the course of the contest and made Dallas -1/2 +100 and New York Islanders +1/2 -140.

These may not be perfect odds, but everyone is given the opportunity to see odds on the games.

See Rule #1 above. This thread wasn't for Minnesota- Anaheim selections.

I assume that these five selections will be all that you are making today. I really don't want to have to search and compare across both threads for everyone's picks.
 
sorry Jeffh, I will go and put the Ana game on the other thread, and just omit this Ana pick. Sorry.
