Good bar to watch the games?

I have been here in Rica for a short time now and have been trying to find a good bar. I have been to a few and like one alot. It is almost like an American bar, but does anyone have any other ideas where to go?

Well, I have been to some of the Big Dogs, but they are all small and it doesnt seem like anyone is interested in the games. They are OK some nights.

There is a another bar that some of my buddies turned me on to called Players that has an American feel to it. It has two floors with TV´s everywhere, they also have a big screen. Its nice.

There is also Macs, but no one is ever there.

I will try the Big Dogs in Escazu. Check out Players. Its near Saprissa stadium.

Hook,is usually pretty crwded.With some of the women in there,you may not pay attention to the game either.Have been meaning to go to Players.Will do so on your rec.Thanks.

Hey Judge and Hook, few that know me know that Players is my joint. While all the aforementioned places are great, let me formally invite you to come out and check us out. We are putting the final touches on making the bar into what we truly want as we just bought it less than a month ago.

If you stop in ask for "Doc" or "TJ" and we will be happy to take care of any of the Rx gang. I'll be looking for the two of you soon.

Vietbet: As of right now we just have cable (CableTica). However, I promise all of you that we will have either the DirecTV or Dish Network (more likely) system installed in time for football season. The bar is two floors with 10, yes 10, televisions including a 65" HDTV Big Screen.

Angelle: If you can get the gang together, let me know and I will make sure you guys get plenty of liquor and chicken wings (which are unbeatable... anyone notice that there are no good chicken wings in town?) in you for the best price in town. How's that? Most nites there is either hockey or baskets on the cable feed, so maybe some local could tell us when ESPN gets several games line up and we can get crazy.

Players is in Tibás (about 8 minutes from Paseo Colón). It is on the road that joins Heredia to downtown Tibas on the left hand side. It is just down from a bar called Giros. The Costa Rican address is, 450 meters west of the Municipalidad de Tibás.

gentlemen a new place is opening in Escazu..It is called The Balcony Lounge..They are waiting for a liquor license and soon it will be open..The people who own it are real optimistic obviously about its future..Keep the place in mind, early buzz is favorable..

knikman, good thing I checked the Rx today, cause those were my plans for tonight. I thought it was already open since I went by there 2 days ago and there were people in the balcony... keep us posted, it looks like a nice place to relax.
