The man is all business.Lebron will make us forget Michael Jordan.

17,000 idiots payed and showed up yesterday in Orlando for a game that means nothing to watch the next new greatest passer in the NBA.

That's his cast now.

he'll opt out of his contract in 3 years and go to a major market.

He'll have 3 years experience, will be stronger and have more than upside, he'll have skills.

Not bad for a 21-22 year old in 2006.

thats rite man thats his cast now...cavs have 3 years to build somfin good round him.. im hopin their can keep the kid playin for his home town team.. but in this day and age unless somfin crazy happens cleveland isnt a big market for him..

but good on him for signing wif cavs and not demanding to be traded to lakers or somfin.. (YES KOBE IM TALKIN BOUT U!!!)

if anyone knows just a question.. what is the record amount of wins a team has posted after drafting a rookie?

i know david robinson and spurs had some kinda record of +wins the year after he was drafted.. tim duncan i think as well.... but does anyone know who holds the record? and if so any thoughts on lebron brakin that record!?

David Robinsons rookie year 1989-90 season the spurs went 56-26

Tim Duncan rookie year 1997-98 season the spurs went 56-26

Magic Johnson holds the second best rookie record for the regular season after being drafted 1979-80 season at 60-22, He was the MVP during the NBA championship finals vs. Phili. at age 20, the youngest ever.

Larry Bird holds the record for best 1st season as a rookie after being drafted at 61-21 in 1979-80, and no way will Labron James team break Larry's record, They'll be lucky I say just to break even for the season at 41-41, Maybe even make the 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs, But who knows what will happen, After all Labron only played against high school players while the others have played some college ball. We will have to wait and see on how much of an impact he'll have in his first season.

thanks for info celaya yea i dont believe in all the hype just yet..

im interested in any numbers as in total team wins from the year before to the rookies first year...

example- team goes 9- 73 then drafts MR X then goes 61-20 for example...

im pretty sure david robinson is up there, so is tim duncan just curious as to others.. im sure magic and bird there as well.. its a good way of gauging how much they mean as rookies

although some teams who have blow out years maybe try to lose X amount of game to try to secure the 1st pick in draft.. so loses some gloss abit there

still all in all i kinda thought maybe a 41 -41 season for lebron and cavs be enough to say he had good year...

its guna be interesting there is alot of pressure but im not expecting too much from the kid but im hoping he proves me wrong...

bring it on season 2003 - 2004 cant wait!!!

lebron comparisn to magic johnson????

lebron point guard experiment is nuts! he kid played forward scored and dunked in highschool.players who played point guard for 4 years cant play the point in the pros.getting a assit in the wing is totally different then bringing the ball up and setting a playfor your teammates.

his 1 on 1 defense is reqally bad. his outside shot needs alot of work. he will be in and out of the starting rotation next year.

maybe im so blind because i think carmello anthony is the next magicjohnson
lets go nuggets????

Shiny Suit Man, Here you go with the biggest turn around in a season of wins from a top drafted rookie entering there first year in the NBA.

#3 Larry Bird, 1978-79 season Boston went 29-53, But in Bird's rookie year 1979-80 they went 61-21, a 32 win turn a round.

#2 David Robinson, 1988-89 season Spurs went 21-61, But in David's rookie year 1989-90 they went 56-26, a 35 win turn a round from the year before.

#1 Tim Duncan, 1996-97 season Spurs went 20-62, But in Tim's rookie year 1997-98 they went 56-26 A 36 WIN TURN A ROUND and still holds the record that I think won't be broken by any top rookie in the near future. The reason the Spurs went 20-62 in 1996-97 was on account of David Robinson being injured the whole year and only played 6 games for that season, And I have a feeling the spurs were losing most of those games on purpose so that they could get the #1 pick of Tim Duncan. Smart move on there part.

De Niro, I highly doubt that Carmelo Anthony will have the same playing style as Magic Johnson. Isn't Carmelo a Foward? and not a point guard. I've seen him play a few games in college, And yes he is a great player and in my opinion will be more of an effective player than LeBron this coming year, But his style from what I've seen Carmelo play in college is similiar to Kevin Garnett don't you think. I'm not saying he will be the next Kevin Garnett, Time will tell just how good he will be.

thanks Celaya man for the info...

in my opinion bird/johnson tie for best rookie ever to make impact for their respective teams

i still remember bird torching some team for 60 odd points.. all jump shots!! when his back was gone.. he was unbelievable! and magic well SHOWTIME!!!!!

i have to agree wif de niro no way lebron will be a point guard...they have Wagner from last year draft i think he will turn into a great little point plus he already has the year edge on lebron on running the team..

i have heard somewhere carmello anthony being compare to danny manning lol not sure if that would be correct... anthony is a great prospect and he will be gunning for rookie of year honours wif lebron all year.. he has edge on lebron wif year college experience and ncaa championship ring on his finger.. although lebron has prove already in summer pro league he has no problem scoring and creating against the older players so im sure he will be ok.. he has exceptional talent.. im hoping he just lives up to all of it..

cheers guys

you guys are right anthony is not in magics level and his style is diffrent. anthony is same size as magic (6'8) while garnett is 6'11.anthony will play small forward. but i am glad you guys know what kind of special player he is

every coach that knows anything always talks about HE KNOWS HOW TO PLAY THE GAME. that statement is very important.when to pass, when to shoot and take the crucial shot of the game. controlling the tempo, making other players better. this has it.

physcially james has great talent, but i really dont see too much diffrence than him and micheal richardson, darius miles or ricky davis. they could dunk and score. except he is 4 years younger

i grew up watching bird and magic and the phrase "they were the greatest because they made their teammates great" dom wilkins, alex english, bernard king, were not in that level
