Think it was Slowdive that brought this to the board attention

That alone isn't enough to start blindly jumping on LA unders, especially when they're going down to 6.5 runs. It's like betting on black after 14 reds.

Just my opinion though.

6.5 runs does seem low. Nomo is awsome right now....2.41 era and his last 3 games are 3-0 with a 0.84 era. Lifetime against Sandy he is 7-6, but only 2-3 the past couple of years with a 3.54 era.

Lawrence for Sandy is 5-3 against L.A lifetime and this season has an era of 4.84. However, over the last 48 innings against L.A. his era is 1.85 with a record of 4-3. We all know Sandy sucks on the road winning 13 of 41 games and this would help one want to play the under.

The problem I see with playing the under is the fact that Lawrence is not in very good current form. Over his last 17 innings he has an era of 6.88. If Nomo stays current to form as does Lawrence this game could very well go over 6.5 runs. It seems to me the side is the better play here but not at -1.68 or so. I'll take a shot with the L.A. on the run line at +1.20 because I feel Lawrence will continue his current form and Sandy has problems on the road.

L.A. needs this game very badly right now and if they don't win against Sandy at home it could spell worse trouble over the next few games. I think L.A. will explode against Sandy tonight and get the win by at least two runs.

I put the record up so people could make up their own minds.
You can see that 6.5 or less is 2-4 over since June 1st. However only one of these is not an interleague game. I guess a 77% monthly trend or a 82% over 17 games isnt enough for some.

Personally I follow the philosophy that trends only matter if you were on it during the streak. Arizona is on a 100% winning trend right now. That doesn't mean you should start plopping your money down on Arizona for no other reason.

Just throwing in my two-cents. Do what you like...
