The Atlanta Braves tonight look to improve on the best record in the majors when they complete a four game set against the Chicago Cubs.

The Braves are 60-32 (.652) after their eight-game winning streak was snapped by the Cubs last night. Meantime the Cubs have won just eight of their last 23 but overall this season are 47-46 (.505).

We're going to recommend a play on the Over tonight.

These teams have combined for 16, 14 and 10 runs in the first three games of this series and we see no reason why tonight's total won't get into double digits as well.

Veteran right-hander Shane Reynolds starts for Atlanta and has received excellent offensive support to be 6-4 this season...his ERA of 5.83 and BAA of .298 will catch up with him sooner rather than later. Reynolds had yielded 16 runs in 15 innings prior to a strong outing against the Mets Tuesday but it will take more than that effort to convince us that he is pitching well again. In 28 career games against Chicago he is 14-6 with a 3.41 ERA.

Carlos Zambrano (6-7, 3.19 ERA) has just one victory in his last eight starts. The 22 year-old right-hander was solid in Chicago's 4-3 loss to Florida Tuesday. At Wrigley Field this season he is 3-3 with a 2.85 ERA in nine starts while in two career starts against the Braves he is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA.

Sammy Sosa has five homers in his last six games and will be desperate for another in tonight's nationally televised game. He already has four home runs in 59 at-bats against Reynolds and another tonight wouldn't surprise. Sosa is hitting .344 with 12 home runs and 23 RBI in 24 games since his suspension for using a corked bat.

Six of the Braves last seven games have gone Over and they have scored at least six runs in six of their last nine.

Recommended Play: Over 9 -107

Good luck

Mike
