I've gone from being up over 50 units(64 if counting the day that Axelp posted that wasn't allowed)to being at the breakeven point almost in the left column......things have got to pick up....this is a game of streaks,and I need to go on another famous one......NBA,and CFL have been great,but my bread and butter MLB is struggling......I need everyone to say a prayer,and get me back on the right foot

lab - it appears as though you play all chalk and overs, and runlines...

maybe you should change it up and try playin some doggies...if they lose, you only lose 2 units, not 3, and you will be better off.

Identity,thanks for the concern......I really only play value......obviously you don't follow the challenge,or you would know I play more dogs than anyone here......just so happens I've been playing chalk as of late(which look where it has gotten me

)but when I was 50 units up,I had a losing record for the year,probably 3o games under 500 even....means I was hitting a huge amount of dogs......I'm a dog lover baby,just so happens that I need to choke on some chalk every now and again to bring me back to my roots.....have a great day Identity,all the best

I'm wondering if more people play the dogs hoping to get that big payoff and it affects the lines accordingly. That would tell me that playing the favorites would win more in the long run because fewer people are playing them.

If I'm not making sense please request that I elaborate. Does anyone have the same inclination that I do on this subject?

not true....in baseball, just like every sport, the squares play the favorites...just how it is. they will lay the chalk.

blacklab - you are right. i do not follow the challenge, but i see your picks from time to time and they seem to be over team totals, runline favorites, and layin chalk. glad thats not the case. good luck

Lab,

FWIW (support if nothing else), a lot of (IMO) good baseball cappers have not been doing well this season. This includes some people who have made their living at it for over 10 years. Like you, they were up decently (or even large), and have dropped back to almost even, at even, or have gone negative.

I don't know if the numbers are sharper, or weird things just keep happening.

I know that I personally take more of what I consider bad beats in baseball than any other sport, but lately I've been wondering if I just need to revamp what I consider to be a bad beat, for example
<UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>Losing a muti-run lead in the 9th with a decent (at least prior to THIS game) closer on the mound<LI>Have over 8.5 and it's 4-3 after 2 and scoreless after that<LI>Have under 8 and it's 1-0 after 7 and lose[/list]That sort of thing.

Keep up the good work and the results should follow, but it takes a long time to get into the long run.
