The Montreal Expos go for their fourth straight win tonight when they take on the Atlanta Braves in the second of a four-game set.

We played the Over in this match-up last night when the Expos won 9-8 in extra innings and our numbers again point to this one going Over.

Montreal have won their last three to improve to 53-50 (.515) overall and 14 1/2 games back from Atlanta. In their last three home series the Expos are averaging five runs per game.

Zach Day gets the call for the Expos and the 25 year-old right-hander is 4-3 this season with a 3.44 ERA. He has lost two straight starts allowing nine earned runs on sixteen hits in just 10 2/3 innings. Through his last five starts he has walked sixteen batters while striking out just eight so it would be a major surprise if he could shut down the heavy-hitting Atlanta Braves who have scored an average of more than seven runs per game since July 6. This season the Braves are 43-30 Over against right-handers.

Atlanta have won 15 of their past 19 and their 67-35 (.663) record is 9 1/2 games ahead of the Phillies in the NL East.

While Shane Reynolds is 7-5 overall this season he is 2-4 in his last six starts and has allowed 24 earned runs in just 31 1/3 innings. The veteran faced these Expos at home on July 3 and allowed five earned runs on 11 hits in 7 1/3 innings. Considering his road record this season is poor (2-4, 7.12 ERA) we expect the Expos to score some runs again tonight.

We're very confident that tonight's game will get into double digits again.

Recommended Play: Over 9.5 -110

Good luck

I like this bet also Mike. In addition to Atlanta averaging over 6 runs per game Montreal has been averaging over 6 runs a game at home in its last 3 games.

Reynolds (Atl) is the question mark here as has pitched well in his last 2 outings but is inconsistent before that. I think he will pitch well against the Expos but not enough to limit the total from going over.

I take the Braves outright also because I think Reynolds will do well while Day will not.

Well we wrapped this one up after 6. It's 8-3 Braves now. Good luck on your pick/s for tomorrow.

Regarding the Braves winning out-right, the Braves have won 8 out of their last 9 after losing the series opener. They are 6 out of their last 7 against the runline in that same situation. I was rooting for the Expos to win last night just so that situation would present itself tonight.
