Questec is in the head of both Glavine and Schilling. Are there any other pitchers that need the Shrink when pitching in Questec parks?

Questec is available in 13 ball parks but is being used in 11 currently. Wil is right that it wasn't used in KC to start the season but now is used there. In fact Grimsley and MacDougal hate it. They blamed a 6-1 loss to Oak a week or two ago on 6 straight walks that were given up to start the 9th.

Thanks Raiders and Wil.

By the way, I had the chance the watch the late innings of that KC game the other night, and believe me raiders, Grimsley was missing the strike zone by a mile. I've never seen him pitching that bad. Wild pitch after wild pitch.

I'm happy to hear that. KC's in a lot of trouble. I need the WSox and I'm still more worried aboput the Twins than KC.

speaking of cws, kc...

just for the fun, i compared today's starters and their stats @questec ballparks (assuming that kc ballpark has it) and here are the numbers...

garland 26 er in 23.2 ip, cws 1-4 in his last 5 @ballparks with questec, 8er in 28 ip, cws 3-1 in last 4 when he was pitching @ ballparks w/o the questec.

hernandez 5 er in 38.2 ip (kc 5-1 in these starts) when pitching @ballparks with questec, and 18 er / 35 ip (kc 2-4) in his starts @ballparks w/o questec.

looks like garland is way more affected by the system than hernandez, but this is a small sample to have something conclusive in it.

Did you also see that umps need to get a grade of at least 90% at questec parks to get post season assignments.

yes i did.

here is the breakdown of a few umps in today's games...

Welke 6-0 under in last 6 w/o questec (avg 5.17)

Wolf 6-2 under last 8 w/o questec, 4-2 over with questec (a difference of 4.2 rpg)

Montague (this is kinda confusing) with questec 3-0 under the total in last 3 (avg 3.33), 5-1 under in last 6, while 5-1 over in last 6 with no questec.

Great info Don but I'm a bit confused. Kodiak says that umpire info has no bearing on totals.

Take it easy raiders. Kody the chalk is only 13 years old. Remember when you were that young ?

Intersting stuff. I think this Questec is responsible for a lot of guys not doing as well as usual this baseball season. I have always liked bases as my best sport and still do. I have to say some of the things I have seen so far this year have me scratching my head.

wil.
