An amazing 71% of Arizona's road games this season have gone Under and we expect that trend to continue tonight as the Diamondbacks complete their series against the Cincinnati Reds.

Arizona have won four straight to improve to 64-55 (.538) but still trail the AL West leading Giants by 9 games. We often say that MLB has more streaks than any other sport and as one example Arizona has now beaten Cincinnati SIXTEEN consecutive times.

Rookie right-hander Brandon Webb is 7-5 with a 2.45 ERA this season. He boasts stellar numbers for any pitcher, let alone a rookie. Webb ranks third in the NL in ERA (2.45) and WHIP (1.10) and fourth in batting average against (.213). He has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts and has an excellent road ERA of 1.74. It's no surprise then that the Under has cashed in nine of his last ten starts.

Cincinnati have slumped to 52-66 (.441) this season and fifth in the NL Central. Following last night's effort they have scored just one run in their last 28 innings! The Under is 5-1-1 in the Reds last seven overall.

Tonight they start former Athletics pitcher Aaron Harang who is a combined 2-3 this season with a 5.25 ERA. He will be encouraged by the effort last night of teammate John Bale who, in just his second major league start, blanked Arizona on three hits through six innings.

These teams have combined for just six runs TOTAL in the first two games of this series...while the Under is 6-1 recently when they clash in Cincinnati with an average of just 5.71 runs being scored in these contests.

Once again we expect Arizona to win tonight however we believe the Under offers the most value.

Recommended Play: Under 8.5 -125

Good luck

Nice write-up Mike. I'm all over this one. Thanks for going through the effort.

Just a side note, Webb has lost his last 5 starts, the last 4 by 1 run. I'm also taking Cincy for +1.5 at +111.

Webb is 0-3 in his last 5 starts with no run support, his season ERA is 2.45, nothing wrong with Webb, and he is making a start in front of home folks..

Webb is pitching in front of friends and family? It's always nice to have those intangibles to help a person make a decision.

You are right, there is nothing wrong with Webb. It's the D'backs bats that don't give him the support.

Regarding the 71% of AZ's road games that go under that Mike mentioned, I'm putting that on my "To Be Watched" list. When the Snakes are on the road I will take a look at their games and bet the under if the game situation warrants it.

its Webb's first start against cincy, in cincy.. he has about 60 people coming to the game tonight.. And also Az has beaten them 16 straight times, no way is Cincy a play. However as you know, anything can happen.. Good luck, it would be hard for me to hope for a 1 run AZ win, but it would make us both happy..
