Hot versus cold today as the New York Mets go for their sixth straight win and a clean sweep of their series against the Colorado Rockies.

We played the -1.5 run-line in this match-up yesterday due to a pitching edge but today we're going to stick to the Mets on the money-line.

New York have won nine of their last 12 overall and six straight at home. During this winning streak at Shea Stadium they are scoring an average of 8.5 runs per game while allowing just 3.2! Overall this season they are 53-69 (.434) but do boast a winning record against the NL West going 13-11. Expect them to be very motivated today to complete the series sweep and also give Cliff Floyd a winning send-off. He goes on the disabled list tonight and with surgery scheduled on his Achilles tendon later this month the left fielder will not play again this season.

Steve Trachsel goes for his third straight win tonight for the Mets. Over his last three starts he has allowed just six earned runs through 19 1/3 innings. While there was talk at the weekend of a sore back placing him in doubt for today's start he would not be pitching today if it was likely to cause him any problems. Trachsel is 5-3 lifetime against the Rockies with a 4.54 ERA and beat them earlier this season at Colorado.

Colorado have lost seven of their last eight to drop back to 61-65 (.484) overall. They are an NL-worst 20-46 on the road including just 5-15 since the All Star Break. The Rockies have not had a winning road trip all season.

Taiwanese rookie Chin-hui Tsao makes his fifth career start today. While he is 2-0 thus far with a 4.50 ERA both of those wins have been at home. In his two road starts he has allowed seven earned runs in just 9 2/3 innings work.

The Mets have outscored the Rockies 24-8 in the first three games of this series and we expect them to win again today.

Recommended Play: Mets -120

Good luck

As you well know, there will be other series like this that we can take advantage of. They just don't seem to come along as frequently as I would like.
