Here's another one of my pet theories but please bear with me. Three things take place today for a lot of teams that cause me concern-

1.) Several teams that have played two home series now will be on the road.

2.) Several teams that have played two road series are now at home.

3.) Some teams have had a day off.

The last two times this happened I didn't fare too well so I'm going to do something I rarely do and that is to suggest to bet a half unit on some games.

I like to bet trends and this triple witching hour is a trend breaker. We had a couple teams play last night that bore this out. Anaheim had won their last 6 in a row and Chicago WS lost their last 5. The CWS won last night's game at home. Detroit had lost their last 7 and Texas had won their last 7. Detroit took them to extra innings last night.

Now for the picks:

Each for 1 unit-

Cin +1.5 -106
Bale/Webb
Bale has not given up an earned run in his first 2 starts and Webb has lost his last 6.

NY Mets/SD over 8.0 -109
Glavine/Jarvis
This line is relatively low due to Glavine but the Mets will be just too strong against Jarvis.

Mon +1.5 +106
Tucker/Brown
A low-scoring game will allow Mon to be close. Mon is 6-1 in their last 7.

Tex -149
Thomson/Maroth
Betting regularly against Maroth, Cornejo, Roney and Ledezma. Maroth is 1-9 at home.

Each for 1/2 unit-
NY Mets -1.5 +139
Glavine/Jarvis
Glavine is pitching well and Jarvis is not. The Mets have been surging since Mike Piazza's return.

Mon/LA under 7.0 -130
Brown is pitching relatively well and the Dodgers have not seen Tucker before.

Atl -117
Ortiz/Williams
Ortiz is hot lately. Atl is 5-1 while SF is 1-7. Maybe some home cooking will do the Giants well and Bonds is scheduled to be back but I hope it takes a couple games for him to get in the swing of things.

Fla/Col under 12.5 -109
Pavano/Stark
Col's bats are dead. Maybe a trip to Coors field will wake them up but I feel this is too high for the first game back.
