What does walk-off home run mean???

I have never heard this term until this season. What does it mean??

It is a game winning homerun. It has to be in the bottom half of the inning. Like Barry Bonds hit a homerun last night in the bottom of the tenth to give the giants the 5-4 win. After he touched home the game was over therefore hence, the walkoff homer. The teams walked off the field.

That "walk off" expression is the most moronic sports term I have ever heard. We have the annoying folks at ESPN to thank for that one. I would love to see that term banned in this forum and everwhere else for that matter. Do people realize how stupid that sounds when you say it?

How about game winning home run or game winning single?
