Make no mistake, the Brewers are red hot! After winning 10 in a row, which inlcuded a sweep of these same Cincinnati Reds, where they outscored them 27-12 at the Great American park, the Brewers look to extend another winning streak. After losing to the Cubs on Friday night, ending their season high 10 game winnign streak, the Brewers rebounded nicely to win the final 2 games of that series. They have now won an incredible 12/13 games. The Reds have been on the other end of the spectrum, losing 7 of 8 and are having some trouble scoring runs. The Brewers send Wayne Franklin to the hill in search of his 3rd consecutive victory today. Less than a week ago Franklin defeated Etherton and the Reds 6-2 in Cinci. He has given up a solid 9 runs in his last 4 starts, 3 of them wins.
The Reds counter with Seth Etherton and his 6.06 era. This is Etherton's 4th start of the season and 15th of his career. He has given up 11 runs in his last 3 outings, 2 of them loses. It's a tuff spot for a young starter on the road against one of the hottest teams in all of baseball.
I look for the red hot Brewers to continue to play at this torrid place against the struggling and depeleted lineup of the last place Cincinnati Reds. Franklin should get his 3 consecutive victory tonight in front of the home crowd.
