MLB 9/9

Florida Marlins @ NY Mets Sept 9/03

The Marlins come into this game absolutely demolishing left handed pitching hitting at a .308 clip while on the road in 2003. Over their L10 games the Marlins are hitting .421 vs. southpaws. Today’s starter for the Mets, Tom Glavine, is a left-hander. Needless to say we’ll go with the Marlins hot bats tonight. When the Marlins are favored, they're 44-24 on the season.

Take the Marlins -120

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Cincinnati Reds /Sept 9/03

The L4 meetings between these two squads have gone over. The over is 7-2 L9 meetings overall. The over has been predominant in 14 of the L20 meetings(70%). The over is 7-3 when today’s pitcher for the Pirates takes to the hill (Torres). The over is 40-28 while the Pirates are on the road. I am looking for two bottom feeders tee of on each other again today.

Take the OVER 9 -115

Boston Red Sox @ Baltimore Orioles Sept 9/03

The over is 13-5 in BOSOX last 18 overall. The over has been predominant when the Bosox are on the road (-44 Over 28 Under). On the season the Red Sox have seen the over eclipsed in 88 of 139 overall games (63%). Baltimore is 72-64 favoring the Over in 2003. Today’s pitcher for the Red Sox Lowe has seen 19 of his 28 appearances this season go over the set total(68%). While the Orioles starting left-hander Moss has seen the over in two of his L3 starts and in those appearances he has garnered himself a hefty 7.04 ERA and 1.96 WHIP. Note:Red Sox have been hitting .294 this season vs. southpaws.

Take the OVER 9.5

Chicago Cubs @ Montreal Expos Sept 9/03

The Expos come into this game vs. the Cubs having gone under in 8 of their L10 games. On the season the Expos have gone under in 77 of 137 overall games (56%).While the Cubs have almost exactly the same numbers going under in 76 of 136 games in 2003. MLB FREEBIES 9/9

BOSTON VS. BALTIMORE 7:05 EST

I'm not quite sure what it is, but the Red Sox just can't keep a lead against these guys of late. They seemed to have last night's game in hand before they had a disastrous 7th, which saw them squander the lead. Then the gas can himself, BK Kim, gave up 4 in the bottom of the 8th to really put a damper on the night. Boston is a quality team, but they've got to learn how to close games out if they plan on playing in October. Derek Lowe struts his stuff this evening, and he's coming off a very solid performance in Chicago. He's 2-0 with a 3.93 ERA in his L/3 starts, but the road has been a problem area all season long. His ERA is close to a run and a half higher than at home, but he has turned it around of late. Damian Moss has been downright awful of late. He's 0-2 with a 7.04 ERA his L/3 starts, and he'll be going up against a rabid Red Sox line up this evening. Let's face it, Boston is clearly a better ball club than the O's. They should take the field fired up for this one knowing fully they let last night's game get away from them. They lost a game on the Yanks as well. Paybacks a biatch, and Boston wins this in a slugfest.

RECOMMENDATION: BOSTON RED SOX -160 (LOWE) OVER 9'
