MLB Sept 10

Boston Red Sox @ Baltimore Orioles

This is a repeat of yesterdays call. Two different pitchers but I am expecting the same results. The over is 14-5 in BOSOX last 19 overall. The over is 8-2 L10 meetings in Baltimore between these two American League East rivals The over has been predominant when the Bosox are on the road (-45 Over 28 Under). On the season the Red Sox have seen the over eclipsed in 89 of 140 overall games (63%). Baltimore is 73-64 favoring the Over in 2003. Today's pitcher for the Red Sox is their ace Pedro Martinez. The hard throwing right hander is 11-4 on the season and 15 of his 25 starts this season have gone over the set total. Martinez has seen the over eclipsed in his L3 starts. During that stretch Martinez has given up 19 hits over 16 innings. The last time Martinez pitched against the Orioles the Red sox were on the receiving end of a 13-6 decision. Johnson, the birds starting pitcher today, has seen the over show up in 15 of 27 appearances this season..Despite two capable pitchers, offense rules today.

Take the OVER 8

Chicago Cubs @ Montreal Expos

The Cubs enter this game on a 6 game winning streak. Montreal on the other hand is 1-9 L10 overall. The Cubs have won 4 of the L5 meetings between these two squads.Today's call is strictly a momentum play. Cubs streak towards the ‘pennant while the Expos prepare their golf clubs for the off season.

Take the Cubs +111

Toronto Blue Jays @ Tampa Bay D’Rays

The Rays enter this game vs. the Blue Jays having dominated them in the recent meetings going 7-1 L8 overall. When today’s starter for the D’Rays starts against the Jays Tampa Bay is 3-1 L4. The Rays are 4-1 in Sosa's L5 starts this season. On the other side of the spectrum is the Jays starter today Hendrickson. The lanky Jays right hander has been just horrible of late giving up 22 hits over 10 innings . In his L3 starts he has an ERA of 10.97 with a 2.44 WHIP. Needless to say the advantage goes to the Rays in this one.

MLB 9/10

SAN FRANCISCO VS. SAN DIEGO 10:05 EST

The Giants played long ball last night, and beat up on the Father's 8-3. Kirk Rueter looks to have himself a solid outing tonight since coming off the shelf. Lucky for him the Padres can't hit lefties at all, so this is an excellent opportunity for him to strut his stuff. SD's 14-25 SU vs. south paws this year, and they've never fared well against his lefty. Rueter's 7-2 with a 3.58 ERA in his career vs. the Father's. Brian Lawrence has been solid his last few outings, but the Giants have had his number. He's 0-2 vs. SF in his career, and we foresee that streak going to lucky #3 tonight. SF is 17-8 in SD the L/3 seasons, and they've dominated them this year. We don't see any reason why they don't win their last visit to
Quallcom this evening.

RECOMMENDATION: GIANTS -115 (RUETER)

PHILLY VS. ATLANTA 7:05 EST

The Phills made a huge statement last night after letting Monday night's game get away from them. The Phills are playing the better ball right now, while the Braves have flipped on the cruise control the last few weeks. They're a game back of the fish for the Wild Card, so expect them to come out strong this evening especially if the Mets can beat Florida earlier in the day. Both starting pitcher's are in good form right now, but Padilla has a bit of an advantage. He's seen the Braves lineup before whereas Ramirez will be seeing the Phills for the first time in his career. Padilla's also gone 5-2 with a miniscule 1.78 ERA in his career vs. the Braves. This is a huge game for Philly, and it would be huge for their self confidence if they took the next 2 from Atlanta after blowing it Monday night. We expect them to do just that.

RECOMMENDATION: PHILLIES +110 (PADILLA)
