Toronto -135
Blue Jays are much better hitting ball club against lefties, and the way Daal has been pitching they should be able to get to him early and often. Daal has a 6.34 ERA while pitching at night while Escobar's is at 4. The Orioles have struggled all year long in game 1's of a series posting a 15-34 record. Toronto is hitting lefties at a .288 clip over their last 10 games and at .293 throughout the season. I am pretty sure that Escobar will get his stuff back against a team that he likes to pitch (9-2 record with a 3.86 ERA). Runs is something we will always get with the Jays so all we need tonight is 7 Strong innings by Escobar and the money will be in our pockets.

Cubs Game 1 -148
CUbs have the opporunity to pull even with the Astros tonight by getting 2 wins tonight against the Pirates. Both Zambrano and Fogg have been pitching very good lately, both having very low ERA's in their last 3 starts. Zambrano has pitched well in 2 career starts against Pittsburgh but didn't receive a W in either because of the lack of runsupport. One thing that came to my eye when i was looking at this game was how big of a difference Fogg has between his day and night ERA. when pitching during the day his ERA is at 6.23 compared to 3.87 at night. Throw in the fact that the Cubs are fighting for the playoffs, they should have more motivation in this game. I am looking for a 5-2 5-3 win by the cubbies here.

Florida +111
Much better outings recently by Beckett then by Ortiz, throw in the fact that the Braves have clinched their division for who knows what time, I think that Cox will give the regulars a day off tonight just like the Giants did yesterday. Beckett's ERA in his last 3 starts is at 1.31 while Ortiz's is at 9. Ortiz has been hit early all year long and has had trouble holding base stealers (5-1 ratio SB and CS) and we know that the Marlins have speed throughout the lineup. Beckett has a career 1.93 ERA against the Braves in 6 career starts, Ortiz 3.62 ERA in 11 career starts against the Fish and he is also much worse at night having a 5.13 ERA this year. I know that the Braves are 14-3 at home when Ortiz starts but the Marlins have just much more to play for.

Padres +118
Both teams are sucking it up lately, but tonight we got the better pitcher going for us against a pitcher who has had trouble both against the Padres and when pitching at night. Giles, Kotsay, Burroughs, Nevin and company should give Elarton a lot of trouble, especially with the longball in my opinion. Howard has been a nice surprise for the Padres this year and is bringing a 3.22 ERA into Coors where he will be pitching for the first time in his career. I don't know how Elarton is staying in the majors at all. His 7.34 ERA this year and his 5.07 career ERA shows me that he is not ready yet or prolly never was. Elarton has a 0-3 record with a 9.30 ERA in 6 career starts against them. This is more of a play against Elarton then on the Padres.

Florida/Atlanta Under 9 -128
Boston/Cleveland Under 10 -118

I always look at the BJ's when Escobar is on the road. He has an 8-3 road record. He got shelled his last road game but I think the points you mention will convince me to bet this game.

I overlooked the SD/Col game also. I knew Elarton was bad but not that bad. I think Col is favored in that game because SD's record has been a dismal 2-8 in their last 10. SD's Howard should be the difference here.

I also like the UNDER in this game. Even though Elarton is bad, it usually takes 2 teams to cause a game to over 13 and I'm thinking Howard will be enough to keep Col from scoring much.

Thanks for the write-ups. It could be money in the bank.

I think that 2-8 record is due to the fact that they played the Giants 7 games and 3 against LA, 7 of those 10 coming on the road, but like i said this is more going against Elarton.

Good luck!

I overlooked where SD had been playing. I bet on that game but I also put some lunch money on SD -1.5 +163 (just for fun) hoping Howard will be the difference.
