We'll stay with the San Francisco Giants tonight as they continue their series against the Houston Astros.

The Giants have won seven of their last nine to improve to 96-59 overall. The NL West winners have owned Houston recently winning 11 of their last 13 contests including six of seven at Minute Maid Park. San Francisco's 6-3 win last night came despite Barry Bonds going 0-4 and failing to reach base for the first time in 59 games.

"We're playing against a very good team" said the Astros Jeff Bagwell. "That's why they're the team they are, they keep coming at you. They've got 25 guys who can beat you." The Giants have crushed 24 homers in their last 16 games.

Tonight the Giants start Cy Young candidate Jason Schmidt who is 7-1 in his last ten outings and overall this season boasts a stellar 16-5 record with a 2.33 ERA. He ranks first in the NL in ERA, WHIP, batting average against and winning percentage and fourth in strike-out's. No surprise then that the Giants are an exceptional 24-5 when he starts this season. Schmidt's poor record against Houston (2-8, 5.43 ERA) is one of the few factors keeping the Giants from being heavily favored tonight.

The Astros have dropped three straight to fall back into a tie for the lead in NL Central. They may be a little fatigued right now having played 16 of their last 20 games on the road. Despite being 84-73 overall they have struggled against the NL West this season posting a 13-15 record, while the Giants have dominated the NL Central going 22-12. It's also worth noting Houston is just 29-36 against teams with a winning record this season while San Francisco is 45-30.

Wade Miller is 14-12 with a 3.97 ERA this season and while those are solid numbers they do not compare well with his opponent tonight and he is just 0-3 with a 4.13 ERA lifetime against the Giants.

San Francisco need to keep winning to gain home field advantage against Atlanta for the NLCS and with Jason Schmidt on the mound tonight offer excellent value as a very small favorite.

Recommended Play: Giants -105

Good luck
