Well, I made a writeup today with my picks... dont know why Im waiting until the last week of the season to actually post picks but here goes...

Thursdays Picks

MLB
Arizona (-122) - Day game after a night game... lots of stars expected to rest... both pitchers playing for a spot in 2004, I expect Bautista to pitch well... Arizona bench deeper than Colorado... Elerton will go back to being a career AAA middle reliver in '04

Cubs (-1.5/-132) - Reds might not score a run this whole series... Zambrano was shelled last outing vs. Pitt... will redeem himself to reinstate Dusty Baker's confidence in him for the playoffs... also... 3 words.... Todd Van Poppel ... need I say more?

Phillies (-1.5/+215) - There's no way they lose 5 in a row this late, do they? Wolf has been a completely different pitcher the 2nd half of '03, which is to say he sucks, but I see the Phils coming out and scoring 10 runs tonight to draw this thing out 1 more day... Marlins clinch tommorow... no sense of urgency in the Marlins dugout tonight... playing the alternate runline here...

Brewers (+192) - Astros press after watching Cubs win tonight... barely won yesterday against a SF lineup with all backups... Ponson didn't pitch well, he took advantage of a pressing Houston lineup who grounded out into about 10 double plays... Milwaukee has been playing a lineup mixed with vets and callups - guys who need to play well for a job in '04

Red Sox (-1.5/-126) - Burkett gets his ass handed to him last night in the 1st as the O's spoil the Sox' chance to clinch at home... it won't happen again tonight, the Sox would love to get this over early... a few O's are hot, but Lowe is the type of pitcher to keep a hot hitter off balance and frustrate them with off speed and breaking stuff... I don't usually play run lines, let alone 2 in 1 day, but I see a blowout at Fenway tonight
