I am new to this thread just this past weekend. I had a 20+ unit day in college football on Saturday, then struglled to not quite break even on Sunday in the NFL. I have a pretty good feel for baseball games, so I would like to share some of my picks with the board. Good luck and best regards to all!! Opinions and comments encouraged and welcome!

PHILLIES VS MARLINS OVER 8 +105 5 UNITS

This total is on the low side because the two pitcher's involved, Kevin Milwood and Dontrielle Willis, are talented, well regarded pitcher's in the major league's, and for good reason. However, while Millwood has pitched effectively this year, I do not believe that he is the same Cy Young caliber pitcher that we have seen in years past while he was with the Atlanta Braves. Dontrielle Willis got off to an unbelievable start this season, and I expect big things out of this kid for many years to come. However, he has struggled since the all star break, and is probably not currently as good a pitcher as the oddsmakers/betting public percieve him to be. Take the OVER 8 here.

Kansas City Royals -1.5 over Tigers (-130)
5 UNITS

These guys are dreadful, and any time you can lay 13 for 10 that the Tigers are gonna lose by more than one run, you ought to do it. Especially when you consider that fact that to Jose Lima, a game pitched against the Tigers will be approached with the same fire and determination that a pitcher would take heading into a playoff or World Series game, as he was ran out of Detroit and still carries a vandetta against the front office of the Tiger's organiaztion. Lima guys, let me tell you, will be up for this game. Maroth, what else can I say....1st 20 game loser since Kingman in 1980. Lay the runs, win the money. This one is easy! If not comfortable laying the 1.5, the ML at -235 still has considerable value.

Normally, I like to get more action than just a couple games, but I feel so strongly about these two that I am going to leave it at that. Good luck all, and best regards!

Boat:

I've seen your picks in the foots and you seem to be sound.

I like your reasoning in the Phi/Fla game. You go against the line and give good reasons for it.

As far as the KC/Det game goes, don't be afraid to take the RL with these clowns. One guy here (5teamparlay) told me that when the Tigers lose, they lose by more than 1 run. These guys find ways to lose. They may keep it close in the first few inning but they always find a way to lose it in later innings.

Good luck.

Wish I'd have heeded your words of caution Willheim. Their pitching and defense ended up being the problem though, not their offense against Maroth's left hand delivery. Season high in hits and runs with a bunch of minor leaguer's on the day I hit them big. I apologize to all who followed my lead on that game. Hopefully the run line scared you off and played just the TOTAL UNDER 8 in the Marlins Phillies game. Even if u played both, hopefully your like me and came close to breaking even for the night. Hope to do better tomorrow. Goodnight all, and good luck tommorow.

``Everybody will get the day off, that will give us two days off,'' Giants manager Felipe Alou said. ``Some of the guys really need it.''

I hate to lay this much coin against the Giants, but as you can see from the quote of Felipe Alou posted above, the team he fields this afternoon will not be the Giants as we know them. Some September call-ups perhaps, and some rarely used backups are going to be in the lineup for these guys today. Oswalt has been a gangbuster since coming of the DL. Ponson has struggled for the past three starts, and for whatever reason, has not pitched all that well since coming over from Baltimore. Lay the 1.5 and take the Astros, as I do not believe this game will be decided by one run.

Astros -1.5 over Giants 5 UNITS (+100)

Mike Mussina is 7-1 with a 2.96 ERA since the All-Star break. Loaiza is 0-3 with a 7.05 ERA in his past three starts. There is no doubt he could bounce back and pitch like the legitimate Cy Young candidate that we all know he is, but in this situation, I like taking the best pitcher on the best team in the league against a struggling team and hurler, and getting paid a %20 percent bonus to do so. Take the Yankees in this one.

Yankees +120 over White Sox 10 UNITS

Athletics over the Rangers (-160) 3 UNITS

Hudson too strong for this low of a price against the lowly Texas Rangers. Lay the juice, take the A's, win the money. Good luck all!

I've heard that the Yanks and A's are going to rest key players today since winning their respective divisions. Any truth to this rumor and does it have an effect on these games?

adding 5 units to the Padres on here for a total of 10 UNITS on the Padres +1.5 over the Dodgers +105. Dodgers dont have a good enough offense to justify getting paid better than even money to be against them with 1.5 runs. Good luck all!
