Tried to get on this site over the weekend with no success...Wound up hedging out of a losing series play on Atlanta by taking Cubs in Game Five...Anyway, here's the latest.
FLORIDA + 180 (SERIES) OVER CHI CUBS...1.5 UNITS
Mark Prior and Kerry Wood are certainly the hottest pitching pair anywhere, but Florida may only have to win one out of four against them (or probably no more than two out of four) to win this series...The Marlins clearly have more offense, better relief pitching, better starting pitchers in slots three and four, and likely a better manager in terms of game strategy...As a result, Florida appears to be a clear favorite in the three games not started by Prior and Wood (that statement will be tested tonight)...The price is disrespectful to a team that has played over .600 for close to five months.

As stated above, prefer Marlins in hitting and bullpen areas, and rate Josh Beckett higher than Carlos Zambrano, who has been off form in most recent starts.
CHI CUBS / FLORIDA UNDER 8 + 100 1.0 UNITS
The first round games averaged 7.05 runs per contest, as starting pitchers turned up the focus and the velocity...Staying with the current trend, especially with Cubs lineup not terribly imposing by post season standards.
