Okay Pedro vs Zito
The big matchup yea yea yea you all know that..
But what you dont know, is that Boston will really take care of the A's in there hometown and start the downfall of the Oakland A's..
Tejada is shipping out after tonight when the A's lose.. Guillen is gone.. And that team will just suffer even more when Pedro pitches another 130 pitches.. But this time the outcome will be different..

One little note, if you think Zito is going to man handle the Boston Red Sox 2 times in a row, you can forget it... I GUARANTEE THE SECOND TIME AROUND IS BETTER THAN THE FIRST!!! BUT THAT SAYING WONT WORK FOR THE A'S HITTERS!
TRUST ME!!!!

JUST DONT BET ON THE A'S EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE UP IN THE SERIES 2-0.. ALL THAT DOESNT MATTER NOW...

BOSTON RED SOX -150, -160 whatever you get them at, who cares they win tonight!

Remember that A's almost wrapped up this series twice now (and failed), but so far these past 4-games Tejada and Chavez are something like 2-for-37 (don't have exact stats in front of me).... yet A's should've won all 4 games.

What happens if Tejada and/or Chavez actually starts hitting? Don't discount the A's and go for that "Pedro mystique".

I've noticed on all the msg boards that those cheering on Boston are doing so with a TON of emotion. This is the kind of emotion that cause linesmakers to move what should be a pickem line to -160.

If you are a value player, you have to see the value in Oakland. You can throw out the bullpen stats b/c this is game 5, and you can lean on your starters if needed.

That would be the third time in a row.... remember Zito is 2-0 vs. Boston this year.... and Pedro is 0-2 vs Oakland... and Oakland is 59-24 at home, winning L6... and Boston is .500 team on the road, and Pedro is .500 pitcher on the road.... and 130 pitches is the most Pedro has thrown this year, and Pedro was not vintage Pedro in Game #1.

Everyone saying "Pedro will show up today, etc." .... didn't you think the exact same thing in game #1? Didn't you think Pedro would be the unstoppable #1 pitcher in baseball in game #1? That didn't pan out, so why should game #5 pan out? Pedro walked 4, struck out only 3, in 7 innings... do you think today will be any different?

Just food for thought, Good luck whatever you choose.

i thought pedro would dump game 1

because everybody said the only way boston could win the series was if they won game 1 with pedro,
i said nope he is going to dump, then everyone will count the sox out , and they will do it,
someway somehow,
its funny
everyone thinks this line is way off,
that it should be a pickem' that the linesmakers just did that cause its pedro
and the public will be all over him
seems to me
people like the value with the a's and are jumping on the a's for that reason,
they like betting 100 to win 150 or whatever it is
well
right now the action is pretty much dead even
on both sides
and time will tell who is right on this one

I dont want to hear it..

Boston wins tonight and sends tejada and whoever else to antoher team next year..Because Oakland will once again blow it...

I dont care what happened during the season..
You fools who bet on oakland will pay big time just like you bet on atlanta..

Keep in mind boston was up 4-3 in game 1 until Kim blew it..

But thats quite all right, because Boston will be up by a couple runs going into the 9th tonight.. And thats how its going to be whether you believe it or not, thats on you...

The action is even b/c the linesmakers did a good job anticipating JohnQ public laying money on Boston.

The point is the line should be a pickem based on my analysis. If you also determined this line should be a pickem, and you make value bets as part of your capping arsenal, then you should bet Oakland here.

Try to put bias aside, as there is a lot of emotion in this particular case. Just put on your capper hat and make your play.

Good luck!

Also, one big factor is that Zito is pitching on 3 days rest. I heard on the radio that pitchers pitching on three days rest in postseason games have an ERA of 15.00 for that game

I think the shadows are going to have a big affect on the hitters in the first 3 innings.

Without seeing the raw data for the 3-days rest stat, which I've seen a lot of recently, I can't draw any conclusions. For example, perhaps the reason that the team has to bring out a starter on 3-days rest is because they are facing eliminiation vs. a vastly superior team. How many of these games were on the road vs. home, and what was the W/L & ERA split?

Also, I see the stat repeated everywhere that in playoffs, 3-days rest starters are 5-18. Well, has anyone investigated if that is W/L record or what the team did? We all know that we 'cap we go with ATS not W/L.

Perhaps it would be better to look at only the final game of series where one team brough out a starter on 3-days rest. I can see the stats skewed b/c the superior team is the one backing the inferior team against the wall, thereby requiring that inferior team to bring out their best available pitcher on 3-days rest.

One thing that has not been mentioned when referring to Zito's 3 days of rest is that Zito is not strictly a fast-ball pitcher. He throws change-ups and curve balls. A pitcher like that can rebound more quickly than a fast-ball pitcher.

nice egd

i guess that line was set that high for a reason
and the linesmakers were right
which is what i thought,
it was too easy to take the a's at the high plus money tonight at home with zito,

a pickem game yeah right
but what do i know im just the drunk

heres one for ya
take the sox game 1 over the yanks
why

the yanks are well rested , whipped the twins,
already to go,
the sox flew out to oakland , now right back to new york, they have no pitchers left, will be drained and exhausted after a tryine series, blah blah blah

what a sucker bet the yanks are
