When I was growing up in Chicago, I remember in 1984 when the Cubs took a 2-0 lead on the Padres and only had to win one more game to face the Tigers in the World Series.

I was at the local K-Mart and they were selling Cubs-Tigers World Series shirts. I decided I would have time to buy one later...it would be a unique souvenir to have now since those shirts disappeared by that weekend (Cubs lost three straight to the Padres).

I have a Cubs 1984 NL Champions pennant from that year!!! It's definitely a unique souvenir.

From your "Hockeytown" residence, I assume you're in Detroit. How about Willie Hernandez (former Cub) that year for your Tigers?

Good old Guillermo (the artist formerly known as Willie during that glory year) was absolutely unreal that year.

The pennant is on my wall, I put it there before I realized it could have some value, I thought it was a great novelty item.
