-Mussina for the Yanks has lost the last 4 games he has started.
-Mussina is 7-9 on the road.

-Florida is 56-30 at home.
-Beckett is 11-4 at home with a 2.41 ERA.
-Beckett just pitched a 9-inning shutout against the Cubs last week.

After seeing this you would think that the Marlins are the favorite of the books to win here right? You would be wrong. Beckett and the Fish are +106 dogs. Who knows for how long?

Marlins +106 over Yanks
Beckett/Mussina

Adding:

Yankees at Marlins OVER 7.5 +116
This number just seems too low for me. This number originally started out at 8.5. It takes 2 pitchers to keep the total this low and I just get a feeling that Mussina won't be able to stop the Marlins from manufacturing some runs with their speed.

Tale of the tape:

Marlins:

Runners left in scoring position, 2 out:
L Castillo 1, M Lowell 1, J Beckett 1
Team LOB: 7

I keep replaying the inning where Pudge stopped at third when Garcia bobbled, then got caught in a run down.

I think the runners are taught to run on every ground ball. Pudge thought the ball would get past Messina.

I thought we got lucky in the top of the 9th with the big inning from the Yanks. Then the ball got past Posada to send the runner from 1st to 2nd in the bottom of the 9th.

Can't feel too bad about this one being close. Both starting pitchers pitched well enough to keep it under.

Let's get 'em next time.
