The Houston Astros announced Monday that they traded left-handed
closer BILLY WAGNER to the Philadelphia Phillies for right-hander

Duckworth, who turns 28 in January, was 4-7 with a 4.94 ERA
over 24 games (18 starts) for the Phillies in 2003. Over three
Major League seasons, Duckworth is 15-18 with a 4.87 ERA in
65 games (58 starts).

Good deal for both - Buckholtz is a solid pitching prospect but the Phils are loaded and you have to give up something to get something. Wagner has 1 year left on his deal with an option for next - 8 mil this year. Phils felt he was better then Foulke and Urbina who would command about the same in the open market and made the move.

Good deal for both

With visions of Mitch Williams, Heathcliff Slocum and Jose Mesa in my head.....I love this trade.

Somewhere my Dad has a beer, his Phillies cap and a smile.
