I use the Sporting News site for my info. I have had the best success with it. The league I'm in is a NL only so these are the players I am targeting -

Jason Bay OF Pittsburgh - Had a 8 RBI game vs the Cubs. He was the main guy in the Giles trade to SD. Was injury-prone last year but has tremendous upside.

Jose Valverde P DBacks - They will shop Mantei to let this kid close. He almost avgd 2 ko's/inning in the minors. When Mantei was hurt, was 9/9 in save opps.

Jake Peavy (and all other Padres starters) - They are pitching in a new pitchers park, have Hoffman back, and will make more moves to draw fans. Padres could be a nice play to win that division.

Jeremy Burnitz OF Rockies - We all know his act, but he could hit 40+ homers for the Rockies this year.

Corey Patterson OF Cubs - He was on pace for career highs in all stats last year. When he got hurt, he was batting 3rd. He is expected to be ready for spring training.

Craig Wilson C/OF/1B Pirates - He will be batting in the 5th-6th slot for the Pirates. I put him down because he has catcher eligibility and may slip.

Danny Kolb RP Brewers - I had him at the end of last year and did great for me. I love taking save guys from bad teams because these teams get few blowout wins.

I am starting to really look at this now, I will add more as I go, along with some AL players.

Good Luck

thanks guys on this.
the league we have is a 12 team al&nl with a four man farm system. you keep 12 retentions.
finished last in saves last year so i had to trade piazza for foulke. figured in boston i could get 35.
and fairwarning as far as kolb goes i'm hoping to get him around 17 to 23 rounds as i do have one other in mind first to go with foulke.
my batting was fine lead or league in avg with 289 steals are down though. only had 35 which put me about 7th or 8th.
also the sporting news is our bible(price guide for our players)
i do have 2 good farm guys adam wainsright and gavin floyd(actually got the info for wainwright from henhouse last year.
anyways i'm from the boston area so if you guys want to trade off some info on your surrounding teams and i'll try to get some back on the red sox(no i'm not a fan really but do watch a good percentage of games and listen to the grips and what not, i will try and post for you somewhere. maybe we can just have a thread for us to keep stuff in .
lmk and thanks for your time.
good luck in your bets

I actually use the fantasy source from the Sporting News site. It is a pay site but it is the best that I found. Have been on the other roto sites but liked the TSN the best.

I will add more as I go along but since you are in the Boston area - stay away from Pokey Reese. Let some other sap in your league draft him (sure he will since he is a Red Sox now). He is a BA killer and you can get SB's elsewhere.

For minor leaguers, look at Pittsburgh, they have a lot coming up this year and they will play.

Keep an eye on D'Angelo Jimenez ss-2b-3b Reds. He was batting third for them last year and seemed to play better for the Reds than the other teams he was on.

fairwarning.
i have jiminez right now.
i was going to cut him because i need the space.
the guys we have pitching and out fielders go first.
was going back after him at 5th or sixth. after i could get 2 quaility pitchers and outfielders.
and yes he didnt hurt me any as theres what 3 maybe 4 premere 2nd basemen
as far as the red sox top prospects kevin youkillis and hanny rameraz.
will update pitching prospects as soon as it comes around

You know what is a pretty good site. CDMSPORTS.com I play their games, but they have a lot of stats on there for free. Just go to the part where it says "research". They sort em by position and by whatever else you want to sort by.

I would cut Jimenez then, but keep an eye of him. The Reds have a lot of injured players coming back and he could score a lot of runs.
