i think this is a good bet, given the odds. everyone is saying its a two-team race between houston and the cubs. the cards are a solid team with the best manager in the national league and a scary offense. yes, pitching is the big question here but, i don't think they will be as bad as they were last year.

that bullpen was absolutely horrible last year and they still were in it until the last two weeks.

4:1 represents some value in my mind and i will take it.

I don't think you're getting enough at 4-1. What were the odds on the Cubs and Stros? LaRussa used to be the best manager in the NL but what has he done lately.

They will go a ton of runs and Albert Pujols may be the best player in baseball but unless some of the Chicago or Houston pitchers break down they will both be tough to beat. The Astro rotation of Clemens, Pettitte, Miller, Oswalt and Robertson is pretty impressive. Oswalt has a tendecy to get hurt but their rotation is so deep they can get along without him. The two former Yankees will love pitching in Houston.

The Cubs are going to be much better, both offensively and defensively, with Lee at first base, and he could hit a ton of homers in Wrigley. If Prior and Wood stay healthy they could win 50 games between them and the rest of the rotation isn't too shabby either. If they ever sign Greg Maddux it could be lights out.

well, that certainly is the common belief. i am very skepitcal of the cubs...they crash and burn every time they are picked to win. also, i am not sold on their offense. their lineup is way to right-handed.

4:1 is the best i could find.

Im lovin St Louis this year but I have to agree with Mr Misanthrope. Astros and Cubs will be fun to watch. I like the Cubs to go all the way against the Red Sox. That should have been last years World Series so Im hoping its gonna happen this year.

blue- How did you get down $200 at bet365? Did you have to find nine other guys and get everyone to bet $20?

its actually kinda funny...some future bets i made there were limited to under $100 and some weren't. i have no idea how they calculate their limits...its not on the amount "to win" either.
