MARGE SCHOTT PASSES AWAY

Reds minority owner Marge Schott passed away at Cincinnati's
Christ Hospital on Tuesday. She was 75. According to published
reports, Schott checked into the hospital on Feb. 9 due of
complications from a cold.

Schott became the Reds majority owner on July 8, 1985, and ran
the club until she sold her controlling interest to a group
headed by current chief executive officer Carl H. Lindner on
April 20, 1999.

The Reds won the World Series during her stint as owner, taking
the 1990 World Series with a four-game sweep of the heavily
favored Oakland Athletics.
