Here we come again with another great contest for the readers of ThePrescription.com....

Thanks to V-wager, we have a great concept for a fun , 20 week baseball contest....

The contest is simple, each week, each player will pick the team that he wants to represent him for the week......Over the course of that week, the player is given the record of his team......for the purposes of the contest, a week will be Monday-Sunday.....If the player picks the Mets, and they go 4-3, the players record for the week is 4-3.....Each week the player will choose his team for the next week, and the records will accumulate for 20 weeks.....

Now here is the catch......You can only use a team, ONCE......Therefore it will be very important to pay attention to who is playing who, and when u think they will get hot.....Once u have used a team, u cant use them again......There will only be a few teams that u dont use....So if u have to use the Padres, u wanna make sure to pick the week they might win a few........
If a game is rained out, during the week, that game obviously wont count....Therefore, since some people may not get as many games in, we will award the prizes based on Win %......I would imagine everyone will be within about 5 games of each other, but still, i dont want to take the chance that someone wins by 2, and had 3 more games...

Each player will be required to post up 200.00 with V-wager, before the contest starts in order to enter....However, that is not an entry fee, the money is yours to play with as you wish, it will however, be held according to normal bonus restrictions....Which i will list below.......

V-wager has kindly agreed to make the prize pool a matching deposit....Therefore, for every person we get entered into the contest, V-wager will add 200.00 to the prize pool....Therefore if we get 20 players, we will be playing for 4000.00..........I will award prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd......And if we can get enough players, so that the prize pool is bigger, i would like to award a weekly winner as well....But i would say we will need at least 25 players for that to happen.....I would like first place to be 1500.00 at least......If we get 15 players, we can have 1500, 1000, and 500 prizes......thats pretty good money to be awarded for just 15 players, and no entry fee..

THIS CONTEST SHOULD GET LOTS OF PLAYERS.....

The prizes being offered are very generous, and the book has a great reputation around the forums, so there is no fear of them closing tomorrow, ala Panam.........

Each player will need to email Mike@Players-SB.com and bew47710@aol.com with their acct number, posting handle, and date they deposited their entry funds.....

below are the rules that Mike included for the deposit, and the prizes, i will copy them as he sent them to me....Any questions please direct to him, or email me, and i will get an answer....


1) All contestants need to deposit to get into the contest. This money is theirs to play with.
2) Contests must e-mail us their account number & forum handle before the start of the contest to be eligible for prizes. This way we avoid multiple entries by the same person.

3) All deposits made to enter the contest or claim the prize must be made via NETeller or Western Union & are subject to normal bonus requirements.

4) Contestants are eligible to win one prize per calendar year (actually only one prize per name, address, or phone number will be awarded every 12 months). In all other cases, the prize will be awarded to the next closest finisher in the contest. In other words, if they've already got contest money from us this year—regardless of the site they won it at—they ARE NOT eligible.

5) All prize money, must be rolled over six (6) times & stay in the account for a minimum 30 days before ANY payout will be issued.


i would like all interested players to please sign in this thread, and we will get an idea how many are interest, and therefore how much prize money we will have to disperse........we will have about 3 to 3-1/2 weeks to get the funds there and get organized....

I would love to see a good turnout here, and get a nice big prize fund built.....I will have another contest room set up for this, so everyone will be able to check how they are doing.....You will pick your team the weekend before each week.......i will list every player with every team listed below them.....As you take a team any given week, i will erase that team from your list, so you will always know who you have left to choose from....

Thanks for setting up the contest.

I need to spend some time on the contest in the next few days as I won't have time this weekend. Can you post which weeks will be the 20 weeks for the contest? Is it straight through for 20 consecutive weeks beginning Monday, April 5 and including the shortened All-Star game week? Or do we skip the All-Star week? What's the plan?

we will play for 20 straight weeks starting Monday, April 5th....

we will take all star week off...

there will be a "monthly" winner every 4 weeks, and then pay to the top 3 spots at the end....i will have the exact amounts this weekend, when i see exactly how many poeple are in....that way i know how much prize fund i have to work with....

I noticed we are suppose to email Mike at players-sb are they related to VIP? if we already have a playerssb account do we need to open a vip acct as well?

Since we're going by winning percentage, an 0-0 doesn't hurt, but an 0-7 would be dreadful on the overall standings.

yes, this contest is at V-wager....i had originally given his players email, but u email him at Mike@v-wager.com...

still have today and tomorrow morning to get deposit in....I will setting the field, and setting up the contest forum on Saturday....if you have deposited by noon, u will still be eligible.....

if u do not pick a team for the week, you will get an 0-7 for the contest.....

and while this may seem harsh, please remember, that when Monday arrives, and we have everyones team, i will erase each chosen team from each players list, leaving their respective remaining teams, i will then put up the thread for the following week....each player has until Midnight, Sunday night to select their team, so there will be a full week that a player can select his team.......

if we are doing a 20 week contest, it will not be the whole season, right? 20 weeks will be over at the end of august.

YES, WE ARE JUST DOING 20 WEEKS....

SO YOU USE THE 20 BEST TEAMS U THINK U CAN OUT OF 30....
