making oakland a triple play. Redman is as good as the rest of their staff and the AL hasnt seen him. Seattle is already struggling at the plate and it will take a couple of times though the lineup to get used to Redmans great stuff.

All the square action seems to be on Seattle to break their losing streak as they are "due" to win.

If you play the due, you are though.

oakland -105 (3units)

good luck

I love Oakland here. Not sure why so many cappers are on Seattle. I also like how Redman is new to AL.. should be slight edge here as well.

I just went pretty large on Oakland. Seattle didn't look sharp yesterday and with travel day I'm thinking Redman will keep them off balance (I call Redman the "Kirk Rueter of the AL").

Plus standard momentum and I think Oakland has better offense regardless. GL to all.

oh, puh-lease. seattle played a day game thursday and the flight from seat to oakland isn't like going from seattle to tampa bay. please - it's about a 90-120 minute flight 1 week into the season and if the M's get jet lag from THIS flight they are major league pussies! factoring in travel in picking against the M's is not smart here. if you think the A's are the right side - no problem with that - but travel factored in here - sorry - not gonna buy it.

Do you know what time the plane got in to Oakland? Do you understand how Redmand and Rueter win games? Have you looked at all first game of series when opponent had to travel day before vs. Redman or Rueter?

Also, I was looking at it with the perspective of Seattle offense being off kilter yesterday. Add that + Redman + travel, regardless of the 120 minute flight.

Puh-lease yourself. Did you know Boston didn't get in until 7am this morning?

Redman has pitched for Mn and Det, before spending 1 year in the NL with FLa. Guessing most AL teams have faced him before.

the above post is one reason I don't like to do writeups. People love to try and pick apart your post or even your handicapping.

True Redman has been in the AL but it has been a while and he is a much better pitcher now than he was then. Mulder and Hudson said in an interview that he could be the best pitcher on the staff. That is a bit much, but he is solid. He pitched great tonight giving 6 solid inning before the bullpen imploded tonight. Maybe we can still get lucky and pull this one out. I still like the better team, at home, at a great price.

I relate to your comments above about why you (and I) don't provide bigg writeups very often.

It often leads to a series of questions, second guesses etc.

I figure if I'm on track and winning more than I lose, you don't really care alot every specific reason WHY I choose what I choose. And if I'm NOT winning, you definitely don't give a crap what my reasoning is.

That being said, short notes of explanation can be helpful to others and let's face it, when you highlight a couple of keys to a game and they are the reason it turns out like you expected, that's like a Double Win....

Good job in your early going...keep jammin'
