Thursday Report - 04/15/04

-- NEXT UPDATE will be posted before 6:00am Pacific on Friday, April 16.

Season record: 13-20 -8.09 UNITS

All lines effective as of 4/14/2004, 11:05:00 PM - PST. Listed pitchers must start.

Two plays for Thursday:

CLE (STANFORD) -102 over Min (Radke) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
I've documented Minnesota's struggles against lefties in previous writeups, and that's one reason I like Cleveland here. Another reason is that Radke has not looked good at all. He's got a 5.73 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and .392 BAA so far. Moreover, he hasn't fared well against the Indian hitters, albeit a small sample size. Stanford struggled a bit with his command in his last start, but he is normally a high command pitcher. I'm not counting on him bring home the money here, but I think Cleveland's offense can put enough runs against Radke.

SEA (FRANKLIN) +114 over Ana (Lackey) - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific
Both pitchers have a tendency to give up HRs. However, over the last couple of years, Angels Stadium has been one of the more HR safe parks. Not too high on Franklin, but I think the Seattle offense can take advantage of Lackey. He had a very poor spring and proceeded to get rocked by Texas in his opener. It's been reported that his velocity has been down, which may indicate a hidden injury.

PLEASE NOTE: All wagers are recommended for a "base" unit. Thus a side for 1 UNIT at -110 should be considered risking 1.10 UNITS to win 1.00 UNITS, while a team at +110 should be considered risking 1.00 UNITS to win 1.10 UNITS.

Good luck,

Edward & Richard
