Long forgotten in the game of recent years is that little ball can in fact get you runs. Also the distant fences can cause a pitcher to lose focus thinking nobody goes yard. Nobody thinks they can go yard, so they shorten their stroke and instead of hitting it out once in 25 AB's with 6 or 7 K's sandwiched in, they hit it where they ain't.
