New York Yankees -126
[Unit and a half play]

I got this last night and the number continues to rise but it’s all for good reason.

Javier Vazquez has always rose to the level of competition he’s faced. And likewise when he does pitch poorly it usually coincides with an opponent of little value. With all apologies to Wendy’s….tonight is one of the former and a Biggie.

Knuckleball pitches love to see the wind blowing out. It’ll be cold at Fenway tonight and the wind will be coming in. Neither equates for a dancing knuckleball. But the good news for Tim is Aaron Boone won’t be there. He is, however, replaced with a lineup from top to bottom that has no holes. The Red Sox, minus Nomah and Nixon, does.

Boston’s pen will be hard pressed to rescue Wakefield with virtually every relief pitcher used in last night’s extra inning loss to the Orioles. The Yankees had a day off.

As a life long Red Sox fan it pains me to select this side but I see no argument for the Sox in this one. My only solace is we have Schilling and Lowe going this weekend. And it’s a very long season.
