Roger Clemens won his ninth straight decision and the 315th game of his career, moving into 15th on the all-time list, as the Houston Astros beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-1 on Friday in Houston.

Clemens (5-0) walked four of the first seven batters he faced, but recovered to move past Gaylord Perry on the career wins list. He also became the first Houston pitcher to win five games in April.

Clemens pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits with six strikeouts. He needs six more to pass Steve Carlton into second place on the all-time list.

Lance Berkman homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Astros while contributing three of Houston's 12 hits.

Craig Biggio, Morgan Ensberg and Adam Everett all added two hits for the Astros.

Juan Acevedo (2-2) allowed three runs on nine hits for the Reds over six innings to take the loss.

In Philadelphia, Bobby Abreu and Jim Thome hit back-to-back home runs to lead the Phillies to a 4-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Randy Wolf (2-1) allowed five hits over seven innings, stretching his scoreless streak to 21 innings. He struck out five and walked one.

Elmer Dessens (1-3) allowed four runs on six hits over four innings.

In Milwaukee, Raul Mondesi belted three doubles to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 4-2 win over the Brewers.

Kris Benson (3-1) pitched 7 2/3 innings for the win, allowing one run on five hits. Jose Mesa gave up a run in the ninth but still got his seventh save.

Milwaukee's Ben Sheets (3-2) allowed three runs on seven hits over eight innings for the loss.

A snowstorm forced the cancellation of the game scheduled in Denver between the Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves. The game will be made up as part of a double header on Saturday.
