MLB YTD: 21-16 (+9.43 units)

Atlanta Braves (-120) over San Diego Padres (4.8 units to win 4)

I'm goin for this series sweep here, as I had the Braves in Game 1 & Padres in Game 2. Brian Lawrence is another starting pitcher I dont hold much regard for, as I think he is garbage.

Brian Lawrence has an era of 5.79 and a whip of 2 in his last 3 starts. Its not a matter of control, its just teams are hitting him, which is just as bad. He had given up 23 hits in those 14 innings. Ouch. LAWRENCE is 0-3 when starting against ATLANTA with an ERA of 7.02 and a WHIP of 1.560.

On the other hand, Mike Hampton hasent been too bad of late. I give him a free pass in his game against Florida (where he was roughed up), as the Marlins tend to hit most lefties. Hampton pitched pretty well in his start at Coors Field. I thought it was pretty solid considering how well the Rockies bats were hitting during their homestand.

The Braves are getting slightly healthier. Furcal was back in the lineup on Wednesday and I would assume Drew will be back condiering he only suffering from a 'sore neck.'

Braves are 7-4 in home games
Braves are 8-4 when playing against a team with a winning record
Braves are 3-1 at home with a money line of -100 to -125

Padres are 5-6 in road games
Padres are 1-4 on the road with a money line of -100 to -125

Philadelphia Phillies (-135) over St Louis Cards (2.7 units to win 2)

On paper this should be a great pitching matchup. Both Suppan & Wolf have been pitching pretty well recently. But I beleive Wolf will have better success, as the bats havent really woken up for the Cards.

Wolf does have better numbers of late, when comparing them to Suppan's. In his last 3 Starts, Wolf is 2-0 w/ an era of 1.23 and a whip of 0.864. Also Wolf has had better success against his opponent, then Suppan.

The final edge I give Philadelphia is the bullpen...like I said yesterday, Izzy is goin to blow numerous saves this year...not a solid closer, imo. On the other hand, Billy Wagner has looked pretty damn good this year and continues to look like one of the top notch closers in the game.

The Phillies bullpen has been en fuego @ Home. They have an era of 1.62 & a whip of .9 in their new ballpark.

Good Luck fellas
