Win last night behind L.A. Wood leaving after the second inning didn't hurt.

Detroit +123

Harden got shelled in spring training, and hasn't done much to impress since. His numbers will fool you. His two good starts were against weak hitting Tampa and Seattle. Not only that, but Macha considered moving him out of this start due to the 121 pitches he threw his last time out.

Bonderman's struggled a bit, but has a 3.68 home ERA, despite a rough year. Since March he's experienced a bruised foot, a bruised left leg, spasms in his side, and the death of his grandfather. Healthy, he'll surely improve his numbers.

Walks have plagued both pitchers, but Harden has twice as many this month, in the same amount of innings. And guess who the more patient offensive team is? Wrong, it's Detroit, averaging a walk every eight at bats at home, compared to Oakland's 1 in 10 on the road. Add Harden's big pitch count last start, and I'd be concerned.
I like Harden better long term, no doubt, but I like Bonderman as a home dog tomorrow.

Space.
