Jeremy Affeldt has been mentioned as a very promising young pitcher. After wathching him in his last start against the Red Sox, I have to say I was impressed. He was also pretty effective in the start before, against the Yankees...losing a tough game 4-2. Pretty solid against 2 of the league's potential best offenses.
The Royals have won two of their last three games. After all the cold happenings of their season, this equates to being on fire, lol. But seriously, wins against Derek Lowe and Roy Halladay are very positive wins, especially for the way the Royals have played thus far. Maybe they can get a hot streak goin w/ their young stud on them mound.
Also, on a positive note....the Royals sent Mike MacDougal down to AAA. Thank you. Also, Leskanic looked solid out of the pen the other night against the Jays, he's been bothered by a sore shoulder. The Royals gave him some rest and he looked great in his return.
The Royals pen has actually been solid @ Home w/ a 2.72 era and 1.2 WHIP.
Blue Jays vs. lefty starters are avg'ing just 4 runs per game and batting .240...just imagine how they would be if you trhew out the 2 games against Brian Anderson?
