3 Units-D-Backs+200 over the Giants

Spacious K-Schilling at home giving 7 1/2. I'll take that everytime it happens! Sox got the offense going, have no problem laying the chalk in this one. He is their true ace of the staff. Feel real good on this one, good luck on whatever you do! If it was in Oakland then I could see it as a pick, not in Beantown!

you must admit kapusta Schilling has not been the ace that we expected him to be...

Almost looks to me like he is getting into a pattern of fluctuating in every other game

Good - Last week he was great going 7 and allowing only 1 run @ tampa

Not Good - the week before he wasnt so great going only 5 allowing 8 hits and 3 runs

Good - the start before that he was great (vs KC) going 9 innings with 5 hits and 1 run

Not Good - the time before that he went 7 allowing 2 runs and 7 hits - not terrible but enough to earn a loss @cleveland

Good - before that vs tampa he went 7.1 allowing 5 hits and no runs and no walks vs tampa

Not Good - then before that he went 7.2 allowing 13 hits and 7 runs @ toronto

Good - yankees before that allowing only 1 run on 6 hits in 6.1 innings

Not Good - then vs toronto he went 8 but allowed 4 runs...

Good - and his sox debut he went 6 innings @ baltimore allowing 1 run

My question is - is he now going to have another "Not Good" to keep his streak going?

Thankfully oaklands bullpen I think is terrible and they have just been pampered playing a huge home stint - the most recent of which they swept KC

not to mention that oakland has played KC 6 out of their last 9 games - a period in which they have put together an 8-1 streak losing only to detroit

Just watch out for that Schilling streak

Jaypaw-I love the way he pitches, out of his last 6 starts the most he's given up is 3 runs in a game. I think the Sox will get me more than 3 runs! I can live with that, I think he rolls tonight. That's gambling though I'm rolling the dice! Great day for a shut-out in Beantown!

I guess yer right he has done well

that 7 run toronto game gets to me though...

5 good outings in 9 starts isnt bad

he's only had 2 really bad outings - the 7 run one and the 4 run one - both vs toronto

The only other one that was bad was the start before last - also vs toronto - where he only went 5 innings giving up 8 hits and 3 runs.

So maybe he is still gonna be awesome - but why would toronto have his number?

Either its an anomaly and toronto just has his number or we'll see him collapse vs some other team. Either way I'm gonna wait it out on the sidelines until things play out with him.

I dont expect him to be perfect but 3 out of 9 starts is 25% and if he is gonna get shelled 25% of the time I'm not really sure how to take it... I suppose if he wins 75% of the time then I have no gripe.
