YTD 15-24 (-4.93)
Kansas City (+141) (Wakefield, Gobble)
Taking a flyer on Gobble here... I really like his stuff, and think he'll have a good year when it's all said and done. With good command, a top of the line curve, and a low 90's fastball, the tools are there. He gets some jitters when he gets in jams though, and that's been his downfall. With experience he will become a good second or third starter IMO.
The Sox are just .500 away from Fenway, and Wakefield doesn't exactly instill fear. The pen's been lit up lately, contributing a lot to the Sox losing streak.
Hopefully Gobble turns it around today.
