A 100% no lose betting situation

Fullerton Regional

we (fullerton) are one of the hottest teams in the nation right now. at one point we were 15-16 but finished 36-20. you do the math. we finished 16-2 in conference - winning by 5 games. we are good - but not great. we host a regional this weekend only because the regional #1 seed (and #7 overall) ASU can't. there is a lot of bad blood between the 2 schools for many reasons. this regional will come down to 1 game - saturday's winners bracket game between fullerton and asu (minny and pepperdine are along for the ride - they suck and will both be done by saturday night). the winner of saturday's 3P (PDT) game between csuf and asu will win the regional.

right now - olympic has it set up where you can make a 100% no risk/lose bet on this regional.

the prices to win the regional are:

ASU +100
CSUF +150
Minny/Pepperdine +500

as i said - don't waste your time betting either +500 team. the way it is now - betting on BOTH asu and csuf will assure you no worse than getting your money back. if asu wins - you break even. if csuf wins - you make 1/2 unit and while that might sound not so cool - anytime we can make TWO bets and be assured of getting our money back at worst and making 1/2 unit profit at best - it is something we jump at.

i promise you ASU +100 and CSUF +150 won't last long - so do like me - and get it while you can. once this no risk situation disappears (and my guess is it will be soon after someone at olympic sees this - without trying to sound too narcisstic - the boys at olympic know i know my CSUF sports very well and last year i cleaned them out on our games - and once i post something on CSUF baseball they move the line ASAP to minimize the damage) - forget this - now your bet loses its value - and not worth it.

as i said - this is about as worry free of a bet as you can get.

It's college baseball... Half these kids couldn't field a bunt 3 out of 4 times. To say that any regional is "risk free" is just not smart.

this proves you have never seen college baseball. i would stake my life on the fact fullerton is more fundamentally sound than EVERY SINGLE TEAM in the major leagues and if you took the top 25 teams in college ball - just about all of them are more fundamentally sound than most MLB teams. this includes laying down a bunt as well as fielding it.

as for masonh's question: "what if" you ask? simple - NO CHANCE! trust me on this one - BOTH of these teams will be gone by saturday night. fullerton and asu will fight it out for the regional championship sunday and you can mark that in stone!

if you mean ASU might lose to pepperdine - you onviously don't know college baseball. pepperdine is terrible and will get killed by ASU. if you mean not getting out of the regional - that is something i hope happens - but not sure about.

updated odds at olympic now take away this betting opportunity:

ASU & Fullerton: +100
Pepperdine: +500
Minny: +800

No, I don't follow college baseball at all.. I've just attended every single home game (and a handful of away games) for a team that will go much further than your squad in the CWS.

look at the remarks now.
give them winners from games that most of us dont know anything about and then you actually lose one and they ride your ass.

anyways the only thing that is was saying is it just seem very funny a nationally known school only laying +100 seem like a horrible suckers bet.

i didnt bet any of it anyhow but i do sure hope you win the csfu bet

thanks for the kind words Fair - and that is worth +6.40 units.

i was at the fullerton/pepperdine game and we choked the game away - no 2 ways about it. UP 4-3 w/2 outs in B9 and one strike away - OOPS!

UP 6-4 in B10 - allow a 1 out HR, make a 2-out error and then a GW HR (I HATE the term "walk-off HR").

sunday fullerton has to beat pepperdine 2 times to win the regional. we do have the pitching depth to do so since friday we got a CG - saturday against pepperdine we almost got a CG and the late game against ASU we got a CG.

we have enough pitchers rested and ready to go - and win 2 games. i fully expect to beat pepperdine in G1 and force a final "winner take all" game for the regional.

don't be so fast to write off CSUF yet - things could look better but if we come back and win it sunday it won't shock me one bit.

When you call someone out that has 1) Watched much more college baseball than you and 2) Watched a much more talented team than the one you claim, and tell them that something "proves you have never seen college baseball" -- even going so far as to claim your team is more fundamentally sound than most MLB teams...
