After a very impressive, unbelievable streak by a worse than average team, the D'Rays run has come to and end. With the streak ending yesterday, I strongly feel fading them for ten days straigt no matter the lines, who's taking the mound, where they are playing at...don't let any numbers persuade you to take them. Be consistant and fade them their next ten games straight, and guaranteed you will turn a profit.

Now that the streak, hype, and their only moment of glory they'll of had this year is over, this weak team is now playing for absolutely nothing! There's no way in hell they will catch the Red Sox or Yankees, and I'm sure the entire franchise knows this, they aren't good enough or have enough gas mentally or physically after that run to say, "Ok boys, let's start a new streak!" And there's disappointment I'm sure amongst every player in the club house the streak ended, and with the disappointment comes a deflated ball team, which equals dismal play. Knowing there's no post season, and as much as the mental aspect plays a part in this game, they will now do a nose dive and totally crumble!

Their next game is against the streak killer Jays today with T. Lilly (6-3, 3.83) going for the Blue Birds, strong numbers....then TP heads home for a 3 game series for some more Interleague action to face the 39-32 sound Marlins, following that series the Jays invade TP for four more, and then head over to the Marlins field for 3 more with no days rest during this span. That's 11 games consecutive a bad, deflated, and a playing for nothing team is up against...Don't let this op pass you by fellas! This club totally crumbles starting today, so make the investment and profit!

ChanceRaven: I disagree. I think TB must still be feeling pretty good about their accomplishment !

They're young. A goal may now be to finish .500, 3rd, even 4th. They didn't enter the season expecting play-offs.

The young guys want to establish a reputation as bonafide MLB players, so they can get big contracts later !

Their season has to be considered a success, so far.

I bet them today ! I posted an under pick on them today, but also parlayed TB and under, and played them straight to win.

I say they are a live dog, still !

If they are favored when it looks like they shouldnt be Id tend to agree...

The lines may be inflated until they lose a few in a row now

I'll be watching it

thanks

also keeping in mind that tampa actually has a winning record against lefties. 10-7 i believe.

vs. a team that is 7-17 against lefties.

granted lilly is a little better than halama but tampa is just flat out a better team than toronto.

they still want to keep their streak of winning series alive.

so i would say that + 120 is the smarter side.

we shall see.

You gotta love timing.

We just came in for lunch break and opened this Thread at the same moment that Carl Crawford golfed a three run shot to left center, giving the Rays a 14-5 lead in the sixth.

I'm not sure what the rest of the season holds for this team, but it should be clear they are several strides ahead of both Baltimore and Toronto.

(another hit for Huff, 17th in the game for Rays, and 12th man coming up for this inning)

They should roll the Jays at least 3 of 4 and thus if they can pull a split in the six games with Florida, it will mean a 6-5 stretch, which when tacked onto the recent success, would give them a 30-12 run over seven weeks.

Oh, if the Yankees lose today, the Rays will move to within single digits of first in the AL East. It's 100-1 for them to win the division and we've just dropped a big $10 on it.

STOP ALREADY.

WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE, USUALLY HAPPENS AGAIN.

RIDE THE STREAK, WHETHER A TEAM IS LOSING OR WINNING IT USUALLY HAPPENS IN STREAKS.

I HAVE 500-1 FOR THE WORLD SERIES
250-1 FOR THE PENNANT
100-1 FOR THE DIVISION
AND MORE REALISTICALLY A SH*T LOAD ON THE OVER 68.5 WINS FOR THE SEASON ON TAMPA BAY

Tampa Scored 13 runs off these guys...
B. File
M. Nakamura
A. Peterson
J. Speier
T. Adams

Tornonto scored 13 runs off of these guys...
J. Halama
R. Bell

Even if you wanna wash out the aweful relievers you still end up with 5 runs against halama and 6 runs off lilly - which to me isnt something that is gonna make me jump onto the Tampa bandwagon (nor toronto).

With a guy like Brazelton going this might be a time to go against them...

However I cant bring myself to play chalk on Burnett - not yet anyway.
