I have to get this game in earlier because the line is dropping against me dramatically, i saw it at +110 at some places, OLY has it at -145 ML and evenRL.

Todays matchup is a HOT team with a .302 batting avg. last 10 vs. righties against a NOT HOT team with a .238 avg. against righties. Pitts did beat the Reds 14-4 and 0-1 the day before, but winning run coming in the 9th to squeeze a 1-0 win and then 8 runs in top of 9th? the reds gave up it shoulda be a 5-4 Pitts win the most. Reds gave up on that game so we will give it to Pitts, (they played well

).

Now lets look at the batting a little closer. The Cardinals as i stated above are hitting righties .302 last 10 and are killin' anyone right now. They are 5-1 last 7 agaisnt pittsburge hittin' an avg. of .319. They also covered the spread 6 times and didn't cover the time they lost a supid game 8-11. I can remember it i went to it about a month ago if i can remember. Now that is impressive to me. The Pirates are really strugglin' against righties right now even thoe they are the only ones they are hitting this season, with an avg. of .279 OVERALL. The CARDs are a very dominant team and I see them outscore Pitts today. the CARDS are 8-4 in a game 1 of a series coming off a win and PITTS is 3-5 in 1st game of a series after a win.

The pitchin staff is not to compare either. Suppan is 6-5 overall this season with a 3.75 ERA this season and seaking his 7th win. Benson on the other hand is 5-7 with a 5.11 ERA this season and has reached the 7 loss boundry. Suppan is 4-2 in his career vs. PITTS. Now this is where it gets interesting and this caught my eye.

6/1/2004 STL(W) at. PITTS 8-1 (Suppan, 6H 1ER)
5/27/2004 PITTS at. STL(W) 3-6 (Suppan, 7H 3ER)
7/12/2001 STL(L) at. PITTS 0-2 (Suppan, 5H 2ER)
6/9/2000 PITTS at. STL(W) 5-6 (Suppan, 6H 3ER)
6/4/2000 STL(W) at. PITTS 7-5 (Suppan, 5H 3ER)
6/12/1999 STL(L) at. PITTS 8-9 (Suppan, 7H 4ER)

Well there you have it. Suppan has allowed 16 runs 35 hits and 8 homeruns in 6 games vs. PITTS. The numbers are amazing compared to the numbers of Benson in last 6 starts against STL. He is 4-2. Allowing 21 runs 47 hits and 6 homeruns. Suppan is allwing 2.66 runs avg. in 38 innings.

I see this game as a pitching duel between Suppan and Benson, and I think Suppan wins this one.

Agree 100%....

St Louis have won 13 of their last 17 on the road and are 8-1 in interleague games against Kansas City, Texas and Oakland.

"I have to say so far this year, it is the best ballclub we have faced," Royals manager Tony Pena said following last night's 10-3 loss to the Cardinals. "A real good offensive ballclub. They just knocked us around. It's very simple."

"We're playing good Cardinals baseball, the kind of baseball this organization has stressed for 100 years. I hope that's true come October," St Louis manager Tony La Russa said.

St Louis are 26-12 (+13.9 units) on the road while Pittsburgh are 11-22 (-10.4 units) at home.

St Louis are 36-23 (+8 units) against right-handed starters while Pittsburgh are 26-31 (+0.2 units).

St Louis are 19-6 (+12 units) this month while Pittsburgh are 6-19 (-11.1 units).

St Louis are 6-0 this season in road games when Suppan starts while Pittsburgh are 1-4 this season in home games when Benson starts.

St Louis have won eight of the last ten in this series including five straight.

The Cardinals have the edge in every category tonight and deserve to be heavy favorite's in this matchup.

Recommended Play: St Louis -145

Good luck

nicely added champ. I reall must say the CARDS have been amazing this year. They really are doing great. Don't want to praise them too much, but i believe they have a chance of becoming the world champions this season, even thoe i am a yankees fan.. STL has surprised me a lot.

Good luck Champ and CC, am glad all 2 of us are on it today.
