Cubbies have been struggling, St.Louis is playing very well hence my wager. What a price, how can't you ride the Cards today.

Stay away from the RedSox god dammit haven't you learned yet. They are playing very well right now, Mueller being back is huge. I do think Lowe will have a nervous breakdown before the season is over though! Could be a slug fest tonight.

I should be keeping track of the teams I bet more often to see my record for each - although I won a ton of bets early on going against them with lowe arroyo and kim

Jaypaw-probably 60% I would say you bet against the sox, in your action.

No disrespect intended with the following, because you're obviously having some solid success to date.

But if your records are such that you can't pretty easily pull up your W/L results for specific teams, I would invite you to keep better records.

My most influential mentor in this game of handicapping told me I should keep all records, and I have since last fall.

My results have been more profitable past ten months and I think the record keeping helps.

Additionally, such records can help you and I both keep an eye on the average price we're paying, so we don't get off track there either.

BOL and keep jammin'!

barman where where you uwhen I asked this question before...

I think it was during college hoops season I was asking a lot about how to keep better records and I was looking like crazy for some good excel add in or something that would help me do it.

Needless to say I came up empty for anything that was free.

I know for a fact it would help me - recordkeeping is huge.

I have been learning steadily - during ncaa hoops season I decided to track my bets with a better breakout because I bet hoops so much the last few years

I learned that regarding types of bets (which is no secret) I was aweful over time with anything other than straight ATS bets...

parlays and doubling up etc were the end of me.

so in baseball Ive been very diciplined only betting one unit per bet and only betting plus money for the most part.

Anyway if you can help me keep track of shit Id love to learn your techniques or anyone elses for that matter

come hoops time I am hoping to be extremely detailed

JP, I'll send you a note via email later tonite or tomorrow.

EXCEL can be a handy tool, but everyone has different variables they want to track.

I have an Excel spreadsheet I created for basketball and for hockey, and both have helped me.

But I'm not an Excel guru, and so don't yet know the many shortcuts for entering data so that a single (or just a few) entry can update numerous parts of the sheet.

Instead, I have to input each days results in the relevant fields and that takes 30-60 minutes daily.

The product is worth it, but diligence is needed...if I miss a couple days, then it takes me 1-2 hours just to update.

More later via email..bol
