The New York Times reports that the Red Sox are working to acquire Randy Johnson (P) ARZ from the Diamondbacks in a potential three-team deal that would send Nomar Garciaparra to the Cubs for prospects, who would then be shipped to Arizona for The Big Unit. Meanwhile, the LA Times reports that the Angels likely aren't willing to give up the prospects necessary to get Johnson from the Diamondbacks.

isn't the NYT the same newspaper that fired its top editor and has undergone sweeping changes including firing a writer due to a plagarism scandal and inaccurate reporting?

Nomar for Randy is good enough, if they send him to the cubs for Clements and 2 other of the young cub pitchers they have the deal, the Yanks have nothing to give them.

I'd keep Clement and the prospects.Clement might get em over the top himself...Sox will be cleaning house this year anyway.

i wish they would smartin up and go the Oakland or Texas or even Clevland way.I like watching young teams on the way up instead halfass blowhard overated superstars.
