Three for Saturday

Search
I figured I'd throw 3 out there that I played today...they are pretty square but the risk is worth the reward. I'm calling it squaresville Saturday since I expect chalk and overs to be the prominent plays on the board. Here are my three contributions:

Brewers/Marlins O 9.5 even
As Doberman said in another thread it's too obvious not to play this one. Brew are 1-5 in Obermueller's last 6 and his ERA is beautiful (6.69) going an average of about 5 2/3 innings per start. Valdez isn't any better (5.53 ERA) and he's given up 17 earned runs his last 3 starts (10.20 ERA L3). The only thing hurting us is the umpire Carlson is 8-15 O/U this season but there should be plenty of gopher balls in this one to offset the ump.

Twins -1.5 +150 vs Athletics
Awesome pitching matchup with Santana (8-2 1.50 ERA L11 starts) against Hudson. First start for Timmy coming off the DL and I think with the Twins falling in extras last night at home will be ready to bounce back with their ace on the mound. I think Hudson won't go very far into this game and will probably be on a pitch count which should expose the A's pen early and I expect the Twinkies to take advantage of it. Twins are 6-1 L7 vs Oakland at the Homer Dome.

Cubs -1.5 even vs Giants
Maddux gets another shot at 300 wins today in San Fran and I think he'll get it with ease. Giants are a mess in the rotation and will be throwing out a AAA prospect in Brad Hennessey (3-1 2.17 ERA in AAA) against Maddux. This is Hennessey's first start and I think the fact that this is such a big game I don't see Hennessey lasting very long against the Cub bats. The Cubs won't want to waste any time getting some runs for Maddux and if they can get to this kid early the Giants will be in trouble.

Good luck today.
