Oak/Minn o9 -107 (IIS) (2 units) - These two teams played an 18 inning marathon last night and consequently we have 2 VERY tired bullpens. A combined 12 relievers pitched 21 innings and todays starters will no doubt be asked to go 7 innings or more to give the pens a rest. Problem is neither starter is accustomed to doing that. Harden has only gone 7 innings 3 times in his last 15 starts, and Lohse has only gone that far 3 times ALL YEAR (23 starts). To make matters worse for todays pitchers, the home plate ump is Mike Reilly, who has one of the toughest strikezones in all of baseball. Mike has averaged 1.61 K/BB the last two seasons, which is significantly below the MLB average of 1.93. His over/under record for his career is 130-111, so we know that his small strikezone has resulted in a large number of overs. Finally, the ballpark factor for this game is a very positive .83 runs. This all adds up to a very solid 2 unit play.
